Pardon Services Canada: Building Careers in Benevolence

Mike Catherall
On June 17th, members of Team in Training ran a 42 kilometer marathon in Alaska to consummate their fundraising drive over the last six months. Through corporate sponsorship, pub nights, raffles, promotions and hard work, these runners are actively working towards raising $5500 each to help fight leukemia.

Team in Training, a branch of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, was been able to raise $166,000 to help with the research of leukemia, lymphoma and Hodgkin’s from the Vancouver runners alone. By the year’s end they will have raised roughly $400,000 in total.

After this initial introduction into cancer fundraising, there have been runners who have gone on to develop greater interest in the program. The current administration and staff of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is made up of fundraisers who have taken up administrative positions and advanced through their careers to put their fundraising coordination skills, mentorship experience and understanding of the issues at hand to better use for the society.

These career advancements would not have been possible with a criminal record. Even though such benefactors have the society in mind, there are times when the past can limit your future.

Pardon Services Canada helps to gain reprieve for those burdened with a criminal record. Since 1989 it has been helping to navigate the pardon process with dignity, discretion and respect and it has done so with great success.

Pardon Services Canada is so confident in its service that it will fully refund your fees if it is unable to grant you a pardon.

Pardon Services Canada has been a generous benefactor for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A sponsorship put towards Mike Catherall and Maria Hruschak’s mutual fundraising efforts has given the runners a leg up in their race to save lives.
