I Love to See Nice Nails

Roseanna Jane Leaton
I just moved house recently and one of the sacrifices which resulted from this process was the length and condition of my nails. I have had to trim them all down and treat them to a lot of moisturizer. With a little effort and TLC they now look perfectly presentable, if not as "sexy" as usual! I think most people have similar mental association about nails; we like to see well cared for nails, be it on a woman or a man.

Some people like short nails, some long. Some like deep red nail polish, others a french manicure, and then other people just like to see clean, smooth and plain nails. But we all like to see nails which look "nice". I have lost count of the number of people who I have seen over the years who yearned to stop biting their nails and to just have nice nails. Most of the ladies, I have to say, dreamed of having beautifully polished long talons! Instead, they had short, irregular sharp-edged bitten down nails, with the skin around their nails showing signs of having been gnawed upon as well.

These nail biters, both men and women, were incredibly self conscious about their hands, recounting many different tales of embarrassment. Some would not write a cheque in public, or sign a document; others would spend their time sitting upon their hands. Everyone readily agreed that their nail biting habit achieved no positive purpose for them. Nail biting is a habit which is quite different from over eating or smoking in this respect. If you over eat, you usually at least gain enjoyment and comfort from the food which you are consuming. Most smokers would also say that there was a positive achievement factor to their smoking.

But nail biting is a different type of habit; it is "pure" habit, nothing more. There is no emotional attachment to biting your nails. You do not look at your hands and nails and think "oh, yummy, delicious" do you? Rather, your hands are up to your mouth, your nails have been nibbled away before you even notice what you have done. The only emotional reaction is one of regret or frustration that yet again your nails are short and stumpy, and the surrounding skin is red and raw; and this reaction comes afterwards, not before the gnawing event.

This in fact means that nail biting should be an easy habit to crack, and it is, so long as you understand the nature of "pure habit". A habit is something which you do automatically and instinctively, without conscious and logical direction. This means that nail biting, being a habit, is something which is "driven" by subconscious thought and behavior patterns. You bite your nails because of unconscious patterns of behavior and this is why conscious and logical attempts to stop biting your nails tend to fail. Your conscious and subconscious minds at times would appear to speak an entirely different language; you know consciously that you want to stop biting your nails and yet you keep on biting them. Your subconscious mind appears to be deaf to the commands of your conscious mind.

Somehow, you need to access your subconscious mind to enable a change of habit. Hypnosis is the perfect vehicle for such access. Hypnosis is the state between wake and sleep and so is natural and normal. In hypnosis you have access to your subconscious mind just as you do each night when you are dreaming or as you are falling asleep or waking in the morning; hypnosis is the dreamlike state between wake and sleep.

If you want to stop biting your nails you can purchase hypnosis downloads to guide you to access your subconscious mind and therefore make it easy for you to stop this habit. You really can stop biting your nails easily and quickly with the help of hypnosis downloads and then you can always have nice nails. No more embarrassment, no more need to sit on your hands! (Incidentally, stopping smoking and weight loss are also habits which respond well to hypnosis.)

Roseanna started practicing as a hypnotherapist in 1989, working in all areas of self-improvement, ranging from helping people to overcome their fears and phobias, to all aspects of hypnosis for complementary health, to sports mind retraining. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool which allows access to your inner mind, allowing allignment of purpose and resolution of conflicts.

Her clinical hypnotherapy practice led to a desire to reach out and help as many people as possible and modern technology has made this possible - recording techniques allow multi-track sessions which produce a deep hypnotic effect, and can be even more effective than a 1:1 session. The ability to download mp3s via the internet was the other technological advancement which paved the way to producing this hypnosis mp3 download website.

Roseanna is passionate about all aspects of complementary health care, including hypnotherapy, and would like to see a continuation of its gradual acceptance into main stream medicine. She is interested in scientific research which confirms its effectiveness, and pleased to see that there is a growing body of evidence which proves how effective hypnosis is for so many things. She loves golf and so have a detailed section on the website devoted to the mental skills involved in this great game. She spends a lot of time now in sunny California and is in the process of selecting a country club to join so that she can feed her golfing addiction!

Sports mind training accounts for a relatively large section of this hypnosis download website. The other main sections are hypnosis for complementary health, self-improvement and overcoming fears and phobias. Needless to say, hypnosis is probably best known as an effective way of easily losing weight, stopping smoking or stopping biting your finger nails; but these are just a very few of the behavioral changes which hypnosis can assist in making.
