Al –Qaida´s suicide attach In Central Somalia

Thursday, June 18, in the Somali central city Of Baladweyn, al Qaeda and their allies fired their first shot in Central Somali town of Beledweyn - by assassination. They used their shared surrogate, the extremist Shabab, to assassinate the top Somali security minster Colonel Omar Hashi and former Somali Ambassador Abdikarin Laqanyo.

The three-way collaboration between Al-Qaida, Shabab and Hisbul Islam fundamentalist terrorists provided a live and incontrovertible smoking gun. The price was heavy, to eliminate Sheikh Sharif´s most gifted and formidable friend and ally a grave setback for TFG war plans.

Analysts compare the assassination style of Al-Qaida in Iraq and Afghanistan. Alsahabab, which has been fighting against government led by Sheikh Sharif and whose members trained in Afghanistan, started to use a suicide bombing assassinations against government officials in Somalia. It is fresh evidence of the collaboration between Alshabab intelligence and al Qaeda.

Baladweyn, the hub town of Central Somalia near Ethiopian border, was also the hometown of the assassinated Security Minister; it is ruled by the pro government faction of ICU. Counter-terror experts note the features common to these murders and al Qaeda´s assassination of the legendary Northern Alliance leader, Ahmad Shah Massoud, by two suicides who detonated bomb belts just two days before the Islamic terrorist network struck in New York and Washington. Today it is generally believed that al Qaeda, predicting Ethiopian Invasion in response to this terror attach in their border. The wiping out the TFG high command in Somalia has alerted Ethiopia, Kenya and Western counter-terror agencies to the possibility of its being the precursor for another massive al Qaeda strike against the neighboring countries or its allies. Al Qaeda has taken advantage of the presence of its operatives in a given territory to hit pro-Government leaders present in the same place. According to our sources, This joint enterprise and the al Qaeda-Somali activities among the Alshabab and Alqaida have not been lost on Ethiopian and Somali intelligence in Central Somalia. Before he was murdered, The Security Minister, Colonel Omar Hashi received heavy cannons for his militia, supplied by the Ethiopian army at the request of the TFG, for the purpose of mounting action to capture the Hiiraan, Galgadud and Bakol region Shabab enclave. meanwhile the operation have been called off.

Al-Qaida found new land to carry out their operation and their presence has been growing after the Ethiopian withdraw from Somalia. if the international community and neighboring countries don´t act quickly the country will overrun by Al-Qaida.
