Mandrake Boot Error and Recovery
Mandrake Linux or Mandriva Linux is the operating system that uses RPM Package Manager. Since it offers advanced functionalities and various security features, this operating system is popular among users. But sometimes, you find that a Mandrake-based system fails to boot and you cannot access the stored data. It could be due to corruption of one or more critical system data structures. Thus, to solve the issue, you need to reformat the drive and restore from backup. However, if data backup seems to be damaged, incomplete, or doesn´t exist, you should use Linux Recovery applications.
Consider a scenario, you try to boot your Mandrake-based system and it doesn´t boot. In addition, you receive an error message that is similar to:
"ldm_can't read_validate_partion _table_disc failure"
When you make further attempts to boot the system, you receive the same error message.
Cause
As the error message suggests, system fails to validate partition table. It could be if it is corrupted or damaged. Partition table is the index table that describes all the existing partitions of disk. If partition table is corrupt, system cannot access your stored data and fails to boot.
Solution
To resolve the above behavior, you should follow these steps in order:
• You need to run fdisk to determine if partition table corruption is the issue. Running fdisk may also show the source of error
• If the above check reports partition table corruption, you need to recreate the table. To do so, you need to repartition and reformat the hard disk using disk partitioning utility.
• After this, you should restore the lost data from your recent data backup. But if no data backup is available, is damaged or not up to date, use Linux Recovery software for safe and complete data recovery.
Linux Recovery software are specifically designed to use advanced scanning algorithms to examine a logically crashed drive and to restore the missing information. In addition, they provide automated recovery features, complete documentation, graphically rich interface and read-only design together with extensive recovery abilities. You can use these applications in any case of logical data loss.
