Are you over weight, have declining health issues or just feel sick and tired all the time? FOOD, INC. will show you what has changed in the past fifty years with our food supply here in the states and why this information is hidden from the American consumer. Your body is a natural living organism that has become experimental for food corporations with Genetically Modified GM or GE Genetically Engineered foods. The DNA of plants and animals are being chemically altered and you eat it without knowing because it's not labeled.

The biotech firms are injecting chemicals into corn and soybeans seeds with a virus or bacteria that attaches to the DNA of the plant. The primary reason companies Genetically Engineer or Modify plants, is to make them tolerant to their brand of herbicide designed to survive a deadly dose of pesticides. Pesticides are carcinogenic and we're digesting this poison in our bodies.

This movie brings to light how our food supply is altered for profit and will continue unless you decide to change it by not purchasing these GM foods. But first you´ll have to ask Congress to label these foods. Genetically Modified foods have been on our grocery shelves since 1996 and most Americans have no idea because the people running the FDA did not think testing these patented foods was important and they did not think the consumer should be made aware. I was floored when I did research for an article called, GMO –Another Reason Not To Eat Processed Foods. These same GM foods have been banned in Europe since 1999.

According to Responsible Technology, ´Animals fed on GMO in labs and farms around the world, have exhibited symptoms related to the growing list of diseases in the U.S. population. Various feeding studies in animals have resulted in potentially pre-cancerous cell growth, damaged immune systems, smaller brains, livers and testicles, partial atrophy, odd shaped cell nuclei and other unexplained anomalies besides false pregnancies and higher death rates.

Understanding what causes your natural body to get sick, lack energy and feel bad has everything to do with the food you eat. In the last 50 years cancer has become a household word. The overwhelming amount of people in this country that are diabetics, have heart disease, adult and childhood obesity with all the different types of cancers indicate that something is terribly wrong in a major way with what we eat.

I quit eating meat in the 80´s because it lacked flavor and ten years ago I learned why. It was uncovered how factory farms use hormones to grow animals faster so they can bring meat to market sooner and turn a quick profit. The use of radiation is common to kill viruses and bacteria that have developed between animals living in closed, dirty quarters which also compromises the nutritional values.

Hormones given to animals to increase their weight is similar to athletes that inject steroids to pump up their muscle mass. We know today the declining health issues that comes with steroid usage, liver tumors, jaundice and high blood pressure. In men, reduced sperm count, impotence, development of breast and shrinking testicles. In women, facial hair growth, breast reduction and menstrual cycle changes.

Chemical additives are non-food items that weaken your immune system. Your kidneys and liver do the majority of work, trying to cleanse these impurities from your body but since you can´t see inside your organs you don´t realize the damage, until it´s too late. But if you are thick around the belly area, undigested foods are adding to your weight gain. By eliminating pesticides, GMO, additives, chemicals, preservatives, synthetics, artificial flavors and colors, your digestive system can function effectively and your immune system can protect you.


Eating organic started about 8 years ago when I decided to try it because I wanted a tomato that tasted like a tomato. That was the first time in years that it actually tasted sweet and flavorful. Each organic produce I buy tastes that much better with the sweetness of potatoes, carrots, red peppers and grapes having much more flavor than conventionally grown. You can buy fresh organic produce from the farmer's markets in your town, or grow your own. If you love food and your taste buds haven't been destroyed from cigarettes or alcohol poisoning, give organic a try. It becomes effortless to eat more fruits and veggies when they taste so good.

When you watch FOOD, INC. the stories about the treatment of the farmers, workers and the animals are pretty appalling but it´s your health that's really at stake. It´s "Buyer Beware." about the food we eat in this country. Chemicals are used to grow and disinfect animals on these factory farms and chemicals are inserted into the seeds that corporate bio-tech companies sell. When you stop and think about all these chemicals that your body has to process along with all the other toxins your body is already dealing with, pollution, pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol to name a few, the reason why you are sick and tired all the time starts to make sense. The value of organic foods is worth a little more money because there are no pesticides with every serving and you receive the nutritional benefits that Mother Nature intended.

For me losing three wonderful people to cancer in an eighteen-month time frame began my search for understanding the causes. Dr. Samuel Epstein has written a few books on why cancer is unnecessary and his most recent, "Cancer Gate, How to win the Losing Cancer War." He states, "That 30 - 40% of all cancers are directly linked to empty calorie foods, lack of physical activity and excess body weight. That was the turning point for me. Our bodies are all about nutrition and if we continue to put toxins in our natural bodies, we breakdown our immune systems and destroy the cells that need nourishment to keep us healthy.

You´re the one in control of your body, if you don´t feel good, start looking at your consumption and change one thing at a time. Look at food with your eyes wide open for nutritional values and ask Congress to label GM and GE foods so consumers know.
