Bear's Den: "Of Moral BBQ's and Ill Winds"

David Walks-As-Bear
As Pela´awi (summer) moves along, it´s a time for outdoor things like bar-b-ques. There´s not much better food than that cooked over coals, and I cook out all year long. I sure ain´t no expert, but I can chef it well enough. And, I´m no Hannibal Lector, either. But, ya know… there´s yon´she no´din (ugly wind) brewing in this land, and it begins to gust mightily. Yep – ugly – reallllly ugly, and it comes from some of the two-leggeds existing here – not in the atmosphere. Speaking for myself… I´d be very pleased to change the meat on my spit, and swap it out for any of those yock no ga (sick) two-leggeds… who think that an innocent… is less deserving than a guilty. That may not stop the wind… but it´d sure cut down on the sickly drafts that are wafting about.

Now, the word barba´coa (Bar-B-Que) originated in the language of the Taino Indians of the Caribbean. It was their word used to describe cooking a whole animal over a large, slow, smoky fire where the animal is placed on a spit above burning coals – about like the modern-day version of a pig roast. The Spanish adopted and evolved the word, and then pirates and buccaneers passed it on into English. Voila – the present day, backyard BBQ. Yep, and as I noted, I like cooking out, and have done so for any-old-body that´s ever asked me to do so. That noted, what I´m about to say here will undoubtedly tick a few off. But as Rhett said to Scarlett.... well, you know – too bad. Yeah, I´ve had, and have… more mad going… than a rabid bear – no pun intended. Uh-huh, and I assure you… that I´d be very willing to cook these ugly two-legged´s, too. If you wouldn´t – then fine. For today, at least, everyone has the right to their own opinion. But, to my notion, that´s not something I'd continue to count on if I were you – not with the ever-growing, repulsive whirlwinds whipping about.

The state of our country´s morality, or… lack thereof..., regarding the killing of a late-term pregnancy baby killer versus the murdering of a U.S. Soldier is but another gust… of the ugly wind that I speak of. Those, including the present occupant of the Whitehouse, who consider this dead quack to be of more significance than a young and innocent kid, fresh out of basic training, are ugly… to my mind. And, just so you know… I´ll gladly tell the same to their face, should they wanna look me up, and… we´ll go with it from there… if you get my drift? I don´t know how many folks know this – but I do. The two kids attacked at the Arkansas recruiting station, by a terrorist, weren´t regular army recruiters – they were just shortly out of basic training. They were privates, not sergeants, and had enlisted to protect us – all Americans. As a prior Coast Guard recruiter, I know that the Army, and other services, allow a kid a chance to stay around home for a spell, before shipping out to their assigned duty location, by working at the local recruiting office. Private William Long, who was killed, was only 24, and the 18-year-old Private Quinton Ezeagwula was badly wounded. Neither of these kids had seen combat yet, or had been overseas. They were just there in the office when the terrorist came in and gunned them down. They had no weapons and like the infants killed in late term abortions - they couldn't defend themselves.

To my mind, this is savage murder and the attack of our young military protectors on our own ground, by a jihadist terrorist, is certainly deserving of a mention by the, so-called, Commander and Chief. Yet, this man said nothing, natha – not diddley squat – as if… he could care less, which… I´ve about decided, is the case. He decided, or has all along figured, that innocent… is less deserving than a guilty. That´s because when a doctor who kills late term unborn babies is murdered, this White House dweller immediately makes a heartfelt, sincere statement and sics his Justice Department right onto the case as if… this baby killer… has much more worth than the dead and wounded young soldiers. Their case certainly got no such action. Well, okay. That´s the yon´she no´din (ugly wind) and man… I´ve seen it coming for awhile now. With this, and other things of similar ilk happening, the hurricane picks up steam. I´ve always said that if you don´t know the difference between right and wrong – then you surely have no business being a leader. And, if you´re just a common two-legged, and don´t know when to take cover in a storm, then you´ll be swept away, too – it´s just common sense. Um-hmm, myon´itee (it is bad) out there and growing worse. The bad spirits are playing with our weather, folks… at least to my mind, they are… and we´re not yanking the weatherman off the stage, telling him to stop, or any of those feeding his teleprompter, either. Nah… we seem content… to simply change the channel.

So, were I ya´all, I´d think about building a storm shelter, one… where you can hang out with ´Auntie Em´. That´s because here in America, those that get caught out in the ugly winds like this, once they metastasize, as the cancers they be… are all headed to the Land of Oz. In the meantime, I´ll stand in the wind, and I´d be very pleased, indeed… to change the meat on my spit. Yessir, I´d be happy to swap it out for any of those yock no ga (sick) two-leggeds… who think that an innocent… is less deserving than a guilty. Um-hmm. It may not stop the wind, but it´d sure cut down on the sickly drafts… that are wafting about.
