Baby Stage of Pregnancy- The three trimesters
Pregnancy Phases
The nine months of pregnancy are divided into three trimesters. The first trimester marks the first three months of your pregnancy. At this stage, you will feel a loss of appetite which may or may not be accompanied by nausea. At times, you may feel exhausted beyond reason. The second trimester is the three month period from the fourth to the sixth month. Here your baby slowly starts forming into a human being from being a mere embryo. The third trimester is the third and final stage of the pregnancy when you will be bloated beyond recognition. This is the most exhausting period of all as you will also have to undergo several discomforts in your body. With the delivery date advancing, you may experience lower back pain, breathlessness, swelling of feet and a lethargic feeling.
Since the baby kicks about a lot, you may experience pain or pressure at times. All these happenings are normal enough, but never forgo a visit to your doctor for regular check ups. The doctor will perform an ultrasound & other tests and any abnormal symptoms, if any, will be taken care of at the very earliest.
Pain and gain
This particular baby stage of pregnancy starts as soon as the baby drops into the pelvic region. Sometimes you may feel some pain or contractions in the third trimester of pregnancy. These contractions may, at times, turn so intense that you would want to call up your doctor. But relax! These are known as Braxton Hicks contractions or false contractions. This is just nature´s warning that the D-day is not far away.
Delivery marks the end of the baby stage of pregnancy. This is when your water breaks, you would feel a trickle of water running down your legs & that´s when you go into labor. Then the regular contractions would begin and their frequency would decrease. Finally, you will start getting the urge to push and finally, the baby passes through the birth canal in a head-first position. This is what´s called a normal delivery. After a few minutes, you would feel the contractions again and the placenta is pushed out of your body.
By now, you have now experienced all the baby stages of pregnancy and are holding your much coveted bundle of joy.
Knowing what´s going to happen, especially about the baby stages of pregnancy, is an eye-opener for many. It is always better to be fully aware about all the stages of pregnancy as an educated mom is a better mom.
