Politics, where combatants use words to evicerate each other.
The second concept includes people who want and often need as much government control as possible, within a Liberal Social Democracy, in order to feel they have freedom of choice and are also protected from being exploited by private enterprisers. This concept is known as Democratic Socialism and it has a mix of government controlled social programs and private business enterprise. The weak and the sick and the impoverished are often included in this group, along with a group of strange characters known as Artists.
The third concept is basically a working class group-oriented communal system where equality is stressed and a one Party government controls everything. It is known as Communism and many fear this type of government as being excessively harsh and totalitarian, or dangerously Dictatorial.
There is a forth option! It is non-exploitive and it includes non-polluting industrial work and Art and sharing with others in a free and social-justice controlled natural environment. It is the generic world humanitarian peace and ecology movement. Culturally, it is a mix of Liberal Democracy with Socialism and a non exploitive and free private enterprise working to protect our natural environment. A natural environment other wise known as Mother Nature. Well protected, Nature will nurture and feed and protect as many of us as possible. This social political system has now begun to take hold around the world.
Those are the basic definitions and the question now is why do people continue to exploit and abuse each other while destroying Nature for profit? The answer, sadly, is our natural and instinctive social hierarchy which allows the strongest of us to dominate the weaker and in Nature, this creates a strong Gene Pool. The strongest and fittest often get to mate first while the weaker are shunted aside. It is the unwritten law of the Jungle where the strongest and fastest survive and the weak perish...without mercy. Under our civilized and culturally created behaviors, we continue to have dangerous natural instincts that allow us to kill the other cultural groups and the other Species on this small Planet, almost without mercy! Often we eat the other species until they approach extinction. Fish are a good example and for another, Trees are being destroyed and exploited for lumber. However, we are finally beginning to understand how our industrial free enterprise system has polluted the air and water. Even with cultural and social understanding, the struggle for dominance continues with one Homo Sapien cultural or political group, attempting to eviscerate the other groups, and they often use civilized techniques involving something we call politics. The following is a good example...>
CBC cuts tied to Conservative ideology - poll
Public broadcaster is starved of funding by a government with a vendetta against it.
by Ish Theilheimer
OTTAWA, May 27, 2009, http://www.HarperIndex.ca: Despite cuts that have left the CBC struggling to maintain programming, public support for the public broadcaster is at a record high, and Canadians are saying they distrust the government's motivations in making those cuts.
A new Pollara study commissioned by the Friends of Canadian Broadcasting showed nearly two thirds of respondents believe that Stephen Harper and his government are hostile to the CBC, and that half of them feel he "has a hidden agenda that favours private corporate broadcasters."
The Canadian minority Conservative private enterprise oriented government of Stephen Harper dislikes the Liberal Socialist concept of a Canadian Public Broadcasting Television system, paid for by the Government...therefore the animosity. The same animosity exists with our Medicare system and yet both government sponsored Social Democratic systems continue to exist and to be enjoyed by the people of Canada...in spite of their hostile government!
