Password Protect Your External Hard Drive

Lewis Waller
Do you password protect external hard drive files when you use your Flash drives? How important is the data that you put on these mini drives? Do they contain your financial data? More importantly, if you use these for at work, are your trusted clients' financial or personal files files on these things without any encryption?

Think about this... how often have you worried about losing these drives? What would happen if your (or your faithful clients') important financial or personal files strewn about and plastered all over the net? The mere thought kind of freaks you out, right? Its definitely made me worry in the pass. This is why we all need to password protect external hard drive files and data away from prying eyes.

There are software that can get this done right, and provide complete security, the security that our private files (and our clients) is under supreme encryption. Share ware and Free ware software just don't provide complete protection in this regard, as they can have spyware and adware intertwined into it all - opposite to the cause, right?

The most secure way to password protect external hard drive data is with a program that allows you to use certain 'hint' words you can input in order to help you out if you forget your passcode. For example, you could have the software give you a a "hint" word that you had previously chosen... let's say your forgotten password was the name of your pet, then the software would give you a your chosen hit word, "dog". Simple and Secure - this is the most secure way to password protect external hard drive files.
