The Da Vinci Code: Who Are the Descendants of Jesus Christ?
Pierre Plantard de Saint-Clair (1920-2000), who established the Priory of Sion in 1956, claimed that instead of Mary Magdalene Jesus married Mary the Judean, had children in France, and that the Merovingian kings of France were their descendants. Plantard even implied that he was himself from the royal family of the Merovingians, and therefore a descendant of Jesus Christ.
Historians remain skeptical, and regard the stories of Christ's marriage as nothing more than figments of the imagination. No serious scholar seems to believe that the blood of Jesus Christ himself is flowing in the veins of the Merovingians, or of any mortal being.
So this is the question: Are there indeed descendants of Jesus Christ?
If we take seriously Christ?s revelations, the answer is yes. But the blood of Christ himself is flowing not only in the veins of the Merovingians, but in the veins of all humanity. After all in Revelation 22:13 Christ discloses that he constitutes the seed of the universe, i.e. the cosmic system?s input and output: ?I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.?
Indeed, in his letter to the Colossians Paul identifies Christ as the Creator of the universe: ?For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible ?; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.?
So if Christ is before the universe, and if he created the universe for the production of human beings in his own image ? similarly as a seed creates a mighty tree for the purpose of self-reproduction ?, then it is obvious that our blood is Christ?s blood, because we are his children.
Thus apparently the lineage of Jesus does not have its beginning in France, or in any other location, but in the very beginning of the universe. We are all descendants of Jesus Christ because he is the Creator of the universe, he is the cosmological constant, and he is our cosmic common ancestor. And because we are Christ?s children, we have the potentials of our Creator. For this reason Hermes, the God of Wisdom, teaches: ?If you possess true knowledge, O Soul, you will understand that you are akin to your Creator.?
