Our leading universities and colleges are natural resources for interpretation and clarification of developing technologies. Gifted scholars and professors have a much better understanding of the changing world we´re experiencing. Google, PayPal and Amazon are new business models from college students living on the edge of technology. But are these resources of knowledge and research being utilized by our government officials when deciding what's best for America?
Do you think it´s in our country´s best interest to have lobbyist and special interest groups roaming the halls of Congress, supplying bias information to lawmakers?
We´re seeing the harsh realities caused by a lack of vision by those who shut down or shut out our greatest human resources of innovation, intelligibility, originality and intuition. Who do you think held up the advancements in pollution control, fuel-efficient cars, renewable energies, sustainable jobs and disease prevention in the past ten, twenty, thirty years? The irreconcilable minds that can´t see past the money they pocket.
When business leaders and government officials lack values, morals and ethics with past examples of Enron, Tyco, WorldCom and Adelphia, adding to that list the Wall Street bailout, the financial community meltdown, AIG and the American automakers verging bankruptcy. You have to ask yourself what causes chaos? The tool of greed that committed fraud was dishonesty.
Today´s economic downturn is grossly affecting everyone, so what went missing in our basic ideology? What happened in America that ethics were side stepped and integrity disappeared? The financial crimes that crashed our economy are effectively human rights violations and no less torture than water boarding. Our evolvement as compassionate people has been sold out for individual financial gain. How many in Congress have updated their thinking about what has escalated our lives out of control and into this economic downturn?
When transparency is blocked and honesty is omitted, our conscious effort to do the right thing gets confused. 70 million people don´t sleep soundly at night. Alcohol and drug addiction touches every family and cancer is an epidemic. Where did we go wrong and how much stress does that add everyday?
Marriages fail at a 50% rate. 25% of high school students in California drop out. Most schools lack proper funding for more teachers and supplies. Students require personal attention to train their minds to think clearly and respond objectively. Comprehensive decisions make an effective adult but how many adults show by example what they expect, so there are no contradictions with, "Do as I say, not as I do?"
There´s an enormous advantage created when people are thinking and doing the right thing the first time, for the right reasons. No more double standards and lies that dilute the confidence and trust in each other. Smoke and mirrors hid the ´old school´ deception that sank our economy behind closed doors. When contradictions alienate your common sense – stop and think about what needs to change. At the end of the day it´s your family that´s being affected by pollution, higher prices, job losses, depleted 401k´s, no health care, cancer, drug and alcohol dependency.
FRESH ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES
Moving forward with a conscious determination for positive change leaves the archaic behind. If you´re sitting on a board of directors, managing people or representing our country, the decisions you make are determining our society´s future. The health of our families should always come first as the priority and the motivation behind making decisions.
The truth needs to be the common denominator, not the exception. We know that transparency provides the real indicators that we need to evaluate the healthy solutions that benefit the well being of our citizens.
Digital technologies have leveled the playing field with effective communication. The ability to accomplish with lighting speed, what use to take hours, days, months and years is incredible. As we challenge our businesses leaders to become sustainable and develop new ways to be less dependent on fossil fuels and fossil ways, quality education has to become our main focus in this country.
Smart, comprehensive decisions will put America back on the right track as long as compassion for humanity leads the way. In the best interest of ´We the People,´ the collective objective, let´s rebuild this nation with intelligent communication and effective planning that starts with working together.
The bashing and arrogant rhetoric that consumes our airways and the floor of Congress is bad for the health of our nation. Congress will you make the fundamental changes to revitalize the values this country was built on with progressive solutions that move us forward in the 21st century? The pursuit of happiness includes integrity not the current state of affairs, bankrupted and morally exhausted.
