Longing In Love And Prayer

C.D. Mohatta
The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration. - Pearl S. Buck. This statement is very true. All of us want true love. From our childhood, when we begin life by clinging to mother's bosom, this longing remains till the end. The desire that becomes attainable sometimes because one's true love has fled him/her poses the greatest question of survival. What can be done about that? Why do we long for one who we loved and have lost? Here is a beautiful quote about that - What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose. - Henry Ward Beecher. Because the heart never forgets, we keep longing for lost love and suffer.

Many of us suffer in silence, some of us go for therapy sessions and some of us share our pain with friends. Which is the best way out? If you think about the earlier actions stated, none of them gives any hope of getting lost love back. In every situation, we compromise with the pain, try to reduce the pain and try to live as normally as possible without our earlier lover. What about prayer? What if I lose my love and instead of seeking therapy, or feeling only sad or compromising with my state, I pray to God that I get my love back? This is a process that requires tremendous faith in power of prayer. But with this way one remains hopeful that one day the lost one will come back. This path is not easy to take because the suspense may be very bad, the wait may be very long and one may have to persist with prayer for years. Prayers not felt by us are seldom heard by God. -Philip Henry. Therefore we must pray with intensity. According to law of karma, a prayer is karma and that will surely give fruit.
