Two Teens Killed When Pickup Loses Control In Fullerton Crash
According to Fullerton Police Sgt. Mike McDonald the accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. when the driver of the blue 2006 Toyota pickup lost control of the truck.
The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred in the eastbound lane of Coyote Hills Drive, west of Gilbert Street, ejecting two passengers. The two teens that were fatally injured, have been identified as 19-year-old Jacquelyn A. Ardalan of La Habra and Miles A. Christensen age 19 of Fullerton.
The pickup truck started to skid and went off Coyote Hill Drive, the Toyota went up an embankment and struck a Eucalyptus tree. Crashing into the Eucalyptus tree tore the roof off of the pickup, ejecting and fatally injuring the two teens.
The driver has been identified as Jared Berggren age 19 of Fullerton; he was transported to UCI Medical Center with head injuries.
Sgt. MacDonald stated the fatal truck accident is believed to be alcohol related and Berggren, is expected to be charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
According to Sgt. MacDonald alcohol was found after the accident in a cul-de-sac where the teens were believed to have been drinking.
