One Man's Opinion: The Introduction
With that said, let me point out a few things about me as I am a literal stranger to this community. I can come off as a real jerk sometimes. I speak my mind on things, and a lot of the time I tend not to think how people will react because I am usually so angry about something, that I just need to vent or else I will be painting my gray matter all over the walls because I just lost it.
With that said, letīs go to the basics. Iīm married to a beautiful wife, have a beautiful three month old son, I have a full time job and I am a Christian. When it comes to political views/parties, I am a Moderate/Independent. I prefer the Republican side of things where we have smaller government, lower taxes, with the Government staying out of our lives, as much as possible and the right to possess firearms.
However, while being personally against abortion, I am in favor of Pro Choice as I believe that it is up to the personīs conscience to choose on life or death of an unborn baby, not my moral objection. It is really not even any of my business what a woman chooses to do or not do. I do not believe that the Government should impose upon us rules on Abortion, use of Marijuana, or even prostitution. Those are issues that I personally feel should be state mandated. I tend to stay in the middle because of the fact that I want to hear all points of view, not just one and dismiss another because its coming from someone with a label I donīt agree with.
So with that said, let me just say that in my blog I will do my best to speak the truth about the things I discuss. Sure, Iīll probably vent, rant, and rave but I will always do all that I can to have some truth. Because in the end, that is the biggest thing missing in our society, our media, and even our government as a whole: we are missing the truth.
It seems to be all about personal politics of the politicians and the news networks, as well the need for the networks to have top viewer ship and the need to fear and panic to sell, sell, and sell some more.
So with that said, I figure Iīll chime in about the Swine Flu that we just canīt seem to get away from. Now, I want to point out that I had no intention on writing about the Swine Flu. I honestly had no idea what I wanted to write about. However, I suppose this is like the fly in the ointment, you canīt just ignore it as much as youīd like to.
Now, according to CNN.com, there have been over 150 deaths in Mexico. However, on the World Heath Organization website (www.who.int) Mexican deaths are at 7. And while CNN is...well, CNN I think Iīll take what the WHO is saying over what CNN has to say on the subject.
I have no clue where CNN are getting their sources, but upwards of 150, to 7 that is a huge difference of opinion. So whatīs the truth?
If you listen to "The World Famous" Phil Hendrie on his radio program, heīll tell you that CNN is lying like a prostitute on a cheap rug. And honestly, I will have to say that heīs got something there. Letīs not forget that the news media have a tendency to blow things completely out of proportion as a way to cause viewers to stay tuned in by causing panic, and a need to know more.
And while I respect that even the news media have to make a living somehow, playing on our fears is definitely not the way to go. As a matter of fact that is so morally reprehensible that I wonder if any of these people have enough combined conscience to fill a thimble in the rain.
While I do recognize that this is a serious thing that weīre going through, there is no need to cause wide spread panic over something that doesnīt have to be. People die of the regular flu everywhere and we rarely hear about it. That young child that died in Texas is a very sad story. I went home and I prayed that God would protect my son, and then I kissed him because it does worry me. However, I donīt need the news media trying to dig up fears where itīs not necessary. I bet if the media had its way, weīd all be taking to the streets like savages because weīre so scared about the whole Swine Flu thing.
Letīs not forget that the little boy in Texas had other health problems already. This Swine Flu was just too much for his poor little body to be able to take. I was given information from a friend of mine whoīs been researching this situation that said there was a man here in America who got sick, and recovered and found out after he recovered that heīd had Swine Flu. Now, Iīll check up more on that to make sure that itīs accurate, but what about that? It isnīt the second coming of the plague. This is a strain of the flu virus that is stronger than the original and we need to take extra precautions, period end of story.
Truth may not be very pretty, or glamorous, yet the best things in life donīt have to be either of those things.
But hey, thatīs just one manīs opinion.
