President Obama has made renewable and sustainable energy for America´s future a priority. His new stimulus plan provides grants and other monies that target development and manufacturing of renewable energy sources and resources. The object of such a push is to decrease our CO2 output nationwide by 25% before 2025. This plan will expand our technological and manufacturing bases as well as create many new jobs. It will help to protect our people and this planet. Where can you go to learn more?
I found several energy forums, classes, or symposiums that anyone interested can register or sign up for attendance or participation in. For instance, Michael Harvey has taken a simplified approach to green energy for the average American who wants to do their part. His plan is budget conscious and emphasizes solar or wind power generation. He has created a video/book that can teach anyone how to build their own wind or solar power generation system for less than $200. The American Wind Energy Association, AWEA, is holding a meeting in Chicago, IL from May 4-7, 2009. People who wish to participate in this conference should log on to their web site at www.awea.org. The AWEA are energized about the provisions outlined in the new stimulus bill that can help this industry grow and expand. This meeting will highlight many organizations that are gearing up for this movement into green alternatives and showcase their specific plans. It may instill some ideas for those who are on the fence. There are links on their web site for anyone interested in gaining employment in this industry.
Pulitzer Prize winning author/columnist, Thomas Friedman, is a co-host, along with many other very qualified and credible persons, for a lean, clean, and green energy symposium at the New York Hilton from April 13-16, 2009. This conference hopes to address the technological aspects of our quest to develop and manufacture wind and solar power.
