With real estate prices tanking and stock market and job losses reaching record highs, there has never been a more critical time to take charge of your own mental clarity. When external circumstances are bleak and beyond our control, there are internal measures one can pursue to bring balance and peace of mind back to reality. Below are five of the best strategies Iīve found to bring a fresh perspective and attitude.

1. Spend 10 Minutes in the Sun

When people are depressed there is a tendency to stay indoors and sleep and avoid sunlight. According to the website mecoloa.com a moderate amount of sunlight can be very beneficial to your overall health. Thatīs because sunlight is your best source of vitamin D, which is produced naturally when the sunīs rays touch your skin. According to the report "Vitamin D is essential for your health and for the proper functioning of your organs and cells. Lack of vitamin D will leave you vulnerable to a number of chronic diseases."

2. Stretch your Body Daily

Weīve all been stretching our budgets but what about stretching the body. Ten minutes of stretching in the early morning or at bedtime can be a great way to get oxygen to the blood. Youīll sleep more soundly or start your morning off right if you take the time to stretch stressed out muscles.

3. Practice Acceptance

Anytime you are in resistance to the current circumstances in your life you are in pain. The more resistance you are in the more emotional and even physical pain youīll create. While you may not like the fact your stock portfolio is half of what it used to be, or that your house is in jeopardy of foreclosure, you can choose to accept that regardless of what may happen to you financially, you are a priceless, amazing human being who is capable of achieving anything. Your current situation is nothing more than a snapshot in time and does not have to define you for all eternity. Once you can accept where you are, you move from wanting to live in the past and you donīt fear the future. You are now actively living in the present where you can make the best possible decisions based on your own unique circumstances.

4. Call In The Reinforcements

5. Never Say Never

The current economic meltdown is taking many good women and men on a not so pleasant ride. Regardless of your circumstances, whether it be a foreclosure, a job loss, bankruptcy, business closing or stock market loss, you can still achieve your financial goals. You can rebuild your credit and begin anew. Itīs never too late and with so many in the same situation, there will be viable answers coming forward. From loan modifications to credit repair services, there are many people who can be of assistance to you. Never give up on your dream, no matter how big or small. You are just one idea or career opportunity away from creating the financial stability you deserve. Credit scores can and will be repaired, so donīt let a temporary problem derail you from your life long vision of success.
