The Second American Revolution (Bloodless).
What clearly has happened is that the poor and the unfortunate and the uninsured have watched and suffered just like the French poor for long enough. When you afford any amount of war, as did the French aristocracy at the expense of the simple man then sooner or later there is an uprising. The Trillions spent on a stupid war in Iraq and men who fought it, many of who were suffering financially also has had enough. When you take no notice of the fact that bridges collapse and cities suffer in adverse conditions and are not fixed. When people have to choose between medications and eating?
Limbaugh is this minute trying to rally a war against the left. They lost the election. They say that morons and illiterates elected Obama. They don´t see that they lost the African American vote and that they lost the Woman´s vote and that the rhetoric just alienates all moderates. They are in complete denial that they have accepted all that has happened in the last eight years. They are in denial of the fact that the people who are confident now to voice their pain in front of the nation have been under the jackboot forever. Who BUT the new administration have listened to the jobless/homeless numbers that grow by the minute? Why IS it that those who ´have´ get such difficulty in understanding that there WILL be those who suffer under a capitalistic system out of control? You can´t go on keeping people down.
I see a capitalistic nation scared. Not scared that they might not eat or have a home or vehicle but a group who are scared of having to ´cut back´. A nation scared that they might not afford their monster truck or cigarette boat or swimming pool? The thought of being more economical is scary to them. You listen to the guy who ´runs America´. To read and understand that so many Americans agree with Rush Limbaugh is what is real scary? I met a Republican ´wannabee´ from Afghanistan, at a Christmas party and I tried to have a conversation about whether or not it was obscene to buy a shower curtain for $68,000. He said ´no it was not´. He has a convenience store that is scary. Wrong side of town. He knows what to do and say to blend in. I can´t visualize his stating that in his home Kabul any time soon?
What does have to be accepted is that America CANNOT continue to ´eat the planet´ and must ´cut back´. This idea that you can go on an on indefinitely is ridiculous. I hear them say that people must ´want more´. The system only works if you ´want more´. Being content with what you have does NOT drive the economy. You cannot be content with your car. You cannot be content with your TV. You have to want the bigger car and the bigger TV. Problem is that you have not noticed how far behind you some people have been left. Through no fault of their own in many cases they are destitute. I know some made so from traffic accidents or medical conditions. A person in my community flying along nicely and who´s mother has an embolism far from home who now has only just hung on to her home. It is time for a change and for an acceptance of the need to prop up and repair the discrepancies that exist here. PL.
