Millions of people around the world ask the same thing every day, "how do you avoid telemarketers and their annoying phone calls?" If you´re like most people, you don´t know what you can do to get rid of telemarketers and believe that they´re as inevitable as the religious people showing up at your front door. Fortunately this isn´t the case. If you want to avoid telemarketers, there are a few things that you can do.
First of all, you need to know exactly who is calling you whenever the phone rings. If you have a caller ID, you may be used to just looking at the ID and thinking you know who is calling. This changes, though, if you´re getting a telemarketers phone call, as many telemarketers have unlisted numbers and that is what will show up on your caller ID. You´ll either get an entry that says "Unlisted" or "Unknown."
Even if this does turn out to be the case, though, the actual digits of the number will show up on your caller ID. This is when you go to the internet. The internet can let you see who is calling you whenever they are calling, even if the name isn´t listed right. Simply take the digits and do a reverse phone lookup in order to see which telemarketer is trying to get a hold of you and bother you.
But how does this help you to avoid telemarketers? The more knowledge you have, the easier it is to avoid these telemarketers, or to get in touch with them and get them to stop calling you. If you contact them and they continue to contact you, you have the legal right to take them to court over their harassment of you and your family. While that probably won´t be necessary, taking the right steps can help the problem end.
