Now that you have unpacked your new model train and all its accessories you are ready to let the fun begin. To start with you are going to decide how you want to lay out your tracks.
The pattern and the direction is what you will need to decide on. There is no hard and fast rules for this. Just do what feels good to you. No doubt you have received lots of advice, which is very nice, but the bottom line is, its your hobby.
You can determine whatever size you want to it to be in accordance with what working space you have, plus how much track you purchased. If you are new to the hobby you might want to start out with one of the kits that are available.
These come with the layout and set up plans. They are a good way to start if you just aren´t comfortable starting out from scratch just yet. Which kit you want will depend on how elaborate or how simple you want to keep it, plus how big you want it to be, and finally how much you want to spend. Then there is the time factor as well.
