Chemtrails Explored

The following article contains another extract from the book "The Unexplained Explored" which covers subjects like 9/11, Roswell, UFO and Aliens, and of course more traditional mysteries like: Life after Death, Time Travel, Dowsing, Ghosts and many others.

A Chemtrail, considered by many to be a "conspiracy theory" is somewhat different to a "Contrail". Almost everyone is familiar with a contrail (vapour trail), it is the visible trails of condensed water vapour made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air they may precipitate a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise of tiny ice crystals. These millions of tiny water droplets and/or ice crystals form the vapour trail or contrails. Exhaust vapour trails or contrails usually occur above 8000 metres (26,000 feet), where the temperature is below -40°C.

However, a chemtrail (as the name suggests) contains chemicals and leaves behind a trail that is very similar to that of a contrail (a condensation trail). Skeptics have said that there is no evidence to link the planes that produce "chemtrails" and the government, or that the trails contain any chemicals at all. But this is not entirely true, if we are to believe the information that has been collected over many years on this activity.

It is uncertain when this "spraying" began, some say the theories started in the early 90´s, but there are many reports of chemtrails going back to 1987 (and possibly earlier).

The "chemicals" contained in chemtrail samples have shown the presence of barium and aluminum salts, polymer fibers, thorium, or silicon carbide.

Theories on the purpose of the spraying are varied and include: Military weapons testing, chemical population control, or measures to mitigate global warming.

Federal agencies and scientists have consistently denied the existence of chemtrails and insist that these trails are nothing more than contrails.

A typical chemtrail description is of a trail (or trails) that remain in the sky for many hours, unlike contrails which generally fade much more quickly. Quite often the trails are seen as criss-crossing, grid-like patterns, or parallel stripes which eventually blend to form large clouds.

Some of the effects on health claimed by those affected by spraying include pneumonia-like respiratory symptoms, slight discomfort for a day or two, or no symptoms at all. Quite often the symptoms vanish when the spraying stops.

Articles discussing Chemtrails have frequently mentioned that the chemicals are delivered by military planes (usually white and without markings). Some even claim to have seen these planes land and very quickly return to the skies to continue the spraying (often making many trips in one day).

The criss-cross pattern that has been seen many times could of course be planes flying across a busy flight path, as suggested by the skeptics, but these have appeared in areas which do not fit into that category.

It has also been noticed that Chemtrails can appear at different altitudes, and not the levels where contrails would normally occur.

Although Chemtrails are seen mostly in North America, they have appeared in Canada and some European countries like Britain, France, and the Netherlands.

If they really do exist, what is their purpose and how can a government hide the expenditure of such a program (which must cost billions of dollars)?

These and other questions are explored in the book.
