Working Dogs
Working dogs also include rescue dogs that help people in accidents and disasters to bring them out to safety. Search dogs help in finding missing people by their gifted sense of smell. They also help police in solving criminal cases. There are cadaver dogs that are specially trained for sensing and searching human remains and bodies from scene of crime and accidents. Some detection dogs are trained to find out termites in homes, illegal substances in luggage, bombs, chemicals etc. In many parts of the world working dogs are used for herding, managing and guarding livestock. Dogs are wild and dominant animals that can control many domesticated animals and help humans in turn. Hunting dogs are similarly used for catching bears, birds, fishes, pigs and other small animals for food and various other animal products. Sports world is also not free from dogs. We have Sled dogs which are used commonly used for sports on ice and also for transporting people or material from one place to another. Another use of working dogs is in safeguarding our property like watchman. These guard dogs are also used in military services as war dogs for protection, mine detection and wire lying. There are many dog fighting games played all over the world for bets and money which are for entertainment also and shows caliber of dogs. Overall, working dogs are of pure breed and well raised up with proper food, care and training for special jobs that have to be performed. Working dogs make excellent pets.
