Luckily, though, if you need to find information on a certain kind of email address, you may be able to find out what you need quickly and for free using a university email address directory.
University email address directories are just what they sound like - listings of the names and email addresses of everyone on that particular university's system. If you want to try to use a university email directory, the first step is to determine whether or not the address you're searching for is from a college or university. Almost all of these addresses will end in "edu.". This is your clue that your mystery address might be in a university email directory. The next step is to find out what specific college you're looking for. For instance, addresses that end in "@lsu.edu" are issued by Louisiana State University.
