Find Out Who Has Been Sending Anonymous Text Messages
Most people have gotten at least one text message that has come from a wrong number. Normally, if you text back asking who it is on the other end, they will apologize for sending something to the wrong number. Other times, however, you may find that the texts you are getting are intended for you, and the person texting you does not want to tell you who they are. They may have a crush on you, or perhaps, they have something a bit meaner in mind.
There are going to be times when you get both text messages and phone calls that come from a number that comes up on your caller ID as ´restricted.´ When that happens, you have no way of replying, and you have no number through which you can search for an identity. There may be nothing you can do about one or two of these, but if they are threatening, and they are coming often, you can call your service provider to see what can be done to trace the origin of the messages.
You can use a reverse phone lookup to see who is behind any number that shows up. There can be one problem with this, however, that may be something you have no way around. If someone has a prepaid account, you may never find out who they are. This is because you don´t have to sign up with your real name, in some cases, when you have a prepaid account. You may just have to try to block the number.
However, if a caller is on a plan, or even using someone else´s phone, you can use that reverse phone lookup to trace the number. You may be surprised to find out that the person´s name comes right up. Some free traces can give you some information, but you may have to pay for specifics. If someone is harassing you, it would be well worth the money so you have information to turn over to the police.
