Russia may have no option but to take control of Georgia

Ian Brockwell
It is a sad thing to say, but Russia may not have any choice but to take full control of Georgia (while they still can!). No one wants to see another war, we have enough of those already, but what is really going to happen if Russia pullout of Georgia?

The most likely scenario is that the Bush administration will send in troops as well, on the pretext of defending their "ally". But how is that any different or better than what Russia have obviously considered? And can Russia trust Saakashvili to keep his word, seeing as he has already broken it at least once before (by promising, hours before he attacked South Ossetia, that he wouldn´t)?

Unfortunately, once the US have placed a few thousand troops in Georgia, and Saakashvili repeats his attack, the Russian´s will now be forced into a fight with America.

Perhaps George Bush thinks that this will deter any Russian military action? If he does, he is badly mistaken. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev´s promise of a "shattering blow" to anyone threatening Russian citizens is no idle threat, even if Russia ultimately pays a price for that later.

Thanks to Bush, Rice and Sarkozy and their endless demands, insults and threats, maybe Russia feels they have nothing to lose? The Mainstream Media have brainwashed almost everyone into seeing Russia as the "bad guy" while conveniently ignoring Bush´s illegal invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan (and many other crimes).

Bush constantly gives the impression that he has the support of the rest of the world, when making his decisions, but if we look a little closer, his "real" backing comes from Britain, France, Israel and occasionally Germany. Does this make up the "whole" world? And why did a majority of NATO members reject Georgia´s application to join, if Europe is so supportive of Bush?

The only reason some leaders give Bush support, is because they are financially rewarded for doing so (they are allowed into the "club"). It is true what they say "Everyone has a price"

The Bush administration pumped a lot of cash into Georgia in order to secure a victory for Saakashvili, and did exactly the same in the Ukraine (ask the President of Ukraine where he gets all that cash for him and his family to buy solid gold mobile phones and other expensive toys!). US taxpayer´s money!

I´m sure many of the American people will prefer to believe the lies given out by companies like Fox News, but the reality is that Bush has "bought" people to obtain a regime change in Georgia and the Ukraine (and others). So why should Russia be considered any worse if they do the same in Georgia?

People have been given the wrong picture of Putin and Russia, they are not looking to invade other countries to steal their lands and oil (they already have more land than they need and plenty of oil and gas). All they want is to trade with others and have a peaceful life (not to spend all their cash on military weapons to protect themselves).

It is hard to say which is more disappointing, the fact that the US have such a warmongering administration, or the people who allow it. Just recently, there was a report saying that John McCain might become the next President of America (this was another Fox News report, so we shouldn´t perhaps take this too seriously), but if it´s true? Can more than 150 million people really be considering voting this bumbling buffoon into power? Is there some competition going on to find the biggest idiot in America to become President or what? McCain has the ability to make Bush look good (sometimes!)

And where do all these "regime changes" get the US? Saddam Hussein used to be a US ally, so was the Shah of Iran, what happened to them? The US pumps all that cash (your cash) into the country (plus lots of military equipment), makes the leader and his family rich, and then they tell America what to go do with itself. Great system!

Bush has already tried to create a "regime change" in Russia, which is why Putin reacted the way he did. Can you blame Russia for not trusting the US?

And how has all this stupidity affected the American public? They have become hated by many all over the world. Maybe this is why only a small percentage of Americans actually travel outside their own country (that and the "terrorist" fear that Bush continually promotes). It is not the people who have started these wars, but they must accept some responsibility for allowing their leaders to perform them.

However, back to the Russia/Georgia situation, with public opinion being manipulated against Russia, it wouldn´t surprise me to see Russia make a few "regime changes" of its own in Georgia soon. Allowing the US to grab yet another territory on its borders would be like allowing another nail in its coffin (or committing suicide). If it is going to be accused of doing all these bad things, it might consider actually carrying them out. How much worse could it be? Russia has a right to survive just like any other country, they don´t need permission from Bush or Rice, and certainly not from that little upstart in France!

The Georgian people would benefit much more with a Russian alliance, and at least they can speak the same language (all ex-Soviet States can understand the Russian language). Russia have traded with Georgia for more than 200 years, what has America got to offer, apart from a few backhanders to the leaders?
