We are in the biblical end times

Rod Smith
Those times are here right now – and it´s evident when we look at what Jesus said, and what the Bible predicts.

So what did Jesus say, speaking of the last days?

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in diverse places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows."

Nation is certainly rising against nation. There is the so-called "war on terror" in Iraq, also in Afghanistan. The rhetoric is rolling re an attack on Iran. Not to mention the smaller conflicts going on around the world – in Somalia; and the Tamil Tigers fighting the government in Sri Lanka. There is ethnic violence in Darfur, Sudan, with thousands murdered already, and thousands more displaced.

The Middle East is a constant powder-keg - the last ignition being the invasion of Lebanon by Israel in 2006.

There are more earthquakes now in "diverse places" than ever before. The United States has in recent years endured unprecedented numbers of tornados, hurricanes, storms, floods – and now the raging fires in California.

There is famine in Zimbabwe; mostly due to ungodly greed and lust for power, resulting in great hardship. Even a loaf of bread is beyond the means of many, requiring at least a billion-dollar note! Inflation and unemployment are at ridiculous levels.

Jesus said: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come." Far-sighted indeed, when we think the only way to get from one country to another in those days was by long sea journeys. Jesus´ prediction is coming true now, because of the jet plane - and also because many countries have access to satellite TV. More stations are being added frequently, so before long the gospel will be given simultaneously to "all the world" as Jesus said.

In 2 Peter 3:3 we read that scoffers shall come, walking after their own lusts. Western society has many of those, and the Bible is ridiculed by more people today than ever before.

The most telling, and amazing, Bible prophecy is in Revelation. It says that a system will come in whereby no-one will be able to buy or sell without a mark on the hand or forehead. That was given 2,000 years ago to the Apostle John. He was told in a vision to write down what he saw and heard. Who else but God could look 2,000 years ahead and reveal something that would at the time have seemed impossible in human terms?

A microchip implant (described in a previous article) associated with a RFID tag is most likely the "mark" of Revelation, and the means whereby this cashless buying and selling will happen. How else could it happen without electronic computer technology?

The microchip is being marketed now, and surely the time is not far away when everyone in this world will be chipped and tagged and under total control in a global "Police State."

Taking it all into account, we can see the Bible is truth, and a wise person will trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
