Chess is the worldwide game of choice.

Peterson Evans

Chess is more than a game of skill. It is a medieval history lesson in a miniature form. The best part is that it is a game that can be played by young and old people. The history of chess goes back to medieval times.

While you can have tournaments, the grand game is almost always played with two players one on one. It has even been used to settle arguments. Of course when all else fails, chess is also a good game to pass time. That is why it is popular in jails all across the world. You can go in any country in the world and they know of or play chess.

There are chess sets everywhere and anywhere. Some are made of marble resin, while some of plastic, but the most common are made from wood. All chess sets have the same result to get people to play it. And play it they will in world contests school contests state contests. Or just among friends.

Bobby Fischer was my favorite player as he was world champ for years, and is probably the most well known chess player ever. And had the IQ of Albert Einstein. He was the only American to be a world champion chess player. It was because of him I bought my first chess set. I always wanted a marble set but I could not afford it. Thankfully a plastic set is good enough to play well. You can play with any set and get the same results.

Growing up this game was alway one of my favorites to play. I was the second best player in my grade school. And the best in our school was the Missouri state champ that year. I was the only one in our school who could beat him. He just beat me more than I beat him. That is one of the great things about chess. You can beat your friend today. And the next day he can beat you. You do have to pay close attention, as one mistake can cost you the game. Just like in life, One mistake and you can pay for it the rest of your life. Everyone needs to have a chess set in the house, it brings people together to have a great time.
