NO LOW-CARB, NO LOW-FAT ..... OBESITY CURE IS … LUQAIMAT
In a recent excellent study, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, 17 July 2008, and performed by dietitians leaded by Dr. Iris Shai, proves the well known fact that even the 3 most popular diets do not work well.
The researchers in the study, advised dieters to follow one of these three popular diets for 2 years:
1. A Low-Carb diet based on the Atkins diet plan which is usually associated with high levels of meat consumption. The Low-carbohydrate dieters lost about 10 pounds after the passage of 2 years.
2. A Low-Fat diet which is about 30 percent fat, based on Dean Ornish diet plan and following American Heart Association guidelines. The Low-Fat dieters showed a weight loss of 7 pounds average after 2 years.
3. A Mediterranean diet with fish, excess of: Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fibers, plus olive oil. The Mediterranean dieters also lost about 10 pounds after 2 years.
In addition to regular meetings and telephone calls with dietitians for the participants, the 3 diet plans included nutrition counseling.
Researchers found that average weight loss was 7 - 10 pounds after 2 years of continuous dieting procedure under any of these 3 top popular diets.
Researchers deduced that the results sound very modest, which means that even the most popular diets do not work well. Losing 10 pounds on a diet instead of losing 7 pounds on another diet is not that big of a difference, and none of these results sound particularly encouraging to any obese person who has to lose 100 pounds or more. I am sure that any obese with BMI 31 or more (i.e. has at least 40 pounds extra weight) will be depressed if after 2 years of controlling his meals, and of wasting his time in calories calculations, find that all what he lost is just 10 pounds only.
In contrast, my innovated Luqaimat diet (Jan 2005) gave over 88 pounds weight loss after 1.5 years for patients with BMI 45.5, and gave 36 pounds loss for patients with BMI around 31, to be compared to merely 10 pounds loss in average for patients in Dr. Shai study . This means that Luqaimat diet triple the weight lost in patients of similar BMI during the same period of dieting.
I think that the best scientific diet plan is the one which fulfill the following requirements:
1. Allow eating all nutritional food requirements, and any favorite food, especially super-foods, with no exception (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 4 "The Super-food Slimming Factor").
2. Can be maintained lifelong without difficulty as a lifestyle (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 7 "The Luqaimat Cues Factor" and Factor 8 "The Social Dynamic Factor").
3. Induce regular weight loss due to abolishing hunger sensation (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 10 "NUTPISTELLA Factor" and Factor 18 "Elhashemy's Stomach Satiety Spot "ESSS").
4. Induce reasonable weight loss, around one BMI every 2 months, (according to Elhashemy's scale).
5. Encourage movement (fidget) or physical exercise or both (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 9 "The Exercise Imagination Factor" and Factor 11 "The FIT Factor").
6. Improve the mood and motives of dieters (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 5 "The Luqaimat Nutella Factor", and Factor 6 "Vanilla Ice-cream Factor").
7. Lead to the improvement of the specific pathological and/or psychological cause(s) of obesity for each individual case (Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan, Factor 1 "The Dairy Factor", Factor 2 "The Organic Food", and Factor 3 "The Pizza Factor").
Low-Carb, Low-Fat, and Mediterranean diets cannot fulfill most of these seven healthful requirements. On the other hand, my Elhashemy's broad spectrum Luqaimat diet plan fulfills these 7 items completely.
This Luqaimat diet, innovated by me in 2005, is nowadays widely spread in Egypt and many other Arab countries, showed after more than 3 years of successful results that most cases of overweight and obese people, by eating 7-10 Luqaimat daily plus moderately diversified rewarding meal, can achieve a greater weight loss reduction due to diminishing food volumes for lifelong and in the meantime they stick to this diet easily due to the fact that there is daily rewarding moderate-sized meal.
I published the details of my first 18-month study (started in January 2005) on Calorie-Lab website on 11 October 2007. Out of 345 obese (BMI 45.5) 313 i.e. 91% succeeded in losing average of 88 pounds for 18 months and stayed on this simple natural diet even after that. I kept in touch with most of those patients and up till now they are still keeping the weight they lost off. Many of them even continued to lose weight after the study ended. Some of those super obese lost more than 220 pounds. Based on this, I consider the Luqaimat diet, the most successful diet ever known.
