The “mark” is coming

Rod Smith
Revelation 13 in the Bible tells of a world global system whereby no-one can buy or sell without having a mark on the hand or forehead. It will be a cashless society. Remember, this was written in the days of camels and donkeys for transport!

Why should we believe it? Predictions made in the Old Testament (OT) - written hundreds of years prior to fulfilment - can be seen to be fulfilled in the New Testament (NT).

For example: in Isaiah chapter 53 (OT) we read in detail of Jesus’ bodily disfigurement prior to and during the crucifixion. This came to pass in the New Testament.

Again, in that same OT chapter, Isaiah said: “Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” This was fulfilled by Jesus in Matthew 8 (NT) as He cast out the spirits and healed the sick; There we see Jesus refer to and quote the OT prediction.

In light of that, why should we not believe the Bible prediction for the times we live in?

The truth of this Bible prophecy for the cashless society is partly revealed already. Some people now use credit cards only, but the cash option will vanish. Cards can be lost or stolen, so to replace the cards, guess what? A microchip in the hand or forehead for scanning. Surely that is the Bible “mark” and the microchips are being used now – for “security” reasons, of course.

For purchases, instead of the credit card it will be the person’s hand which will be scanned. Hey presto, bank account details flash on the screen. Insufficient funds = no purchase. To refuse the implant means no microchip = no scan = no purchase = no food from any shop. That will be the hallmark of the global New World Order which is fast approaching. We will be like pawns on a chessboard. It will be the ultimate Big Brother.

Think about it. Surely there is no way to control the buying, selling and tracking of millions of people worldwide except by microchips and/or RFID tags revealing personal information stored on computers.

Recently the entire British Police Force has been ordered to take a microchip under the skin (Google "British police microchip" for verification). The implant will contain a RFID chip to track their whereabouts 24/7. For the British bobby on duty, his/her every movement will be known at HQ. Off duty too?

That’s just the beginning. Chances are the British public will say “If it’s OK for the police it must be OK for us.” How subtle. We will be told how foolproof, easy, convenient it is; no more fiddling for a card in the purse or wallet – just proffer your hand to be scanned. Just take this tracking device and “increase your safety.” Most will believe that rhetoric, so eventually everything everyone does will be tracked and controlled.

God’s Word makes it clear in Revelation 14 that taking the “mark,” being part of such a system, is in effect worshipping it. Chapter 14 of Revelation reveals the wrath of God will be upon such people, for that system will spawn the antichrist “beast” of Revelation, eventually to be defeated by God.

To refuse that mark/microchip will mean hardship, maybe imprisonment, possibly death. Yet anyone who wants the eternal life Jesus promises must refuse the mark. For Christians – or those who purport to be - it may well be God’s ultimate test of loyalty. The choice will be simple: embrace that system of ease, comfort; go with the flow - and face God’s wrath; or obey God’s instructions in the Bible and refuse the mark.
