An Open Letter To Senator Obama
Thank you so much for your speech. The words you spoke struck me profoundly and assuredly; that speech will go down as being one of the greatest ever given in our country. I have expressed to my friends that watching this speech is an absolute must. I informed them that this speech like those of Kennedy and King is the stuff legends are made of. For the first time; I am able to bear witness to immortal words spoken by a figure of relatability in my life time. These images, your words, which I have borne witness to; are those of truth. These words, as David Gergen said, were those of an adult spoken to an adult. This was a drastic difference from the typical dumbed down speech which is usually preserved for the American people during election time.
After your speech many were awestruck and overwhelmed by the experience. Your Democratic competitor felt compelled to give a speech of her own. It paled in comparison. Others asked whether your speech would quell the controversy over pastor Wright. However, none of these same critics chooses to be concerned with even more inflammatory words and reckless acts from those of the Christian faith who are bedfellows with numerous politicians; including the current President.
From prostitute purchasing preacher Jimmy Swaggart to Billy Grahams rants with President Nixon about a Jewish conspiracy. From Jerry Falwell's assertion that AID's is God's punishment for homosexuals to Pat Robertson suggesting the nuking of the State Department and assassinating a world leader. Let us not forget the revelations of rampant homosexual pedophilia within the Catholic Church. Where is the rampant call for dissociation, denunciation, rejection and rebuke for these glorious representatives of Jesus Christ. Where is the media's resounding call for correction and admonishment. The answer is that there is none and there will be none.
However you, Senator Obama, will continue to be subject to excoriating criticism for the simple reason that as of yet you have refused to sell your soul. You have refused to sell out the people who surround you. You have refused to sell out all that is good about you and swim in the political slime pits of lies, greed and immorality. For standing on these truths you will continue to pay a heavy price. It is for these reasons that I know you will not be the next President of the United States of America. You are to good for the position.
I really wish that I was wrong in these assertions. To be proven wrong would be a glorious moment and a rare one in American history. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt that U.S. Presidents are elected by the people anymore. Take at gander at our last two elections and the hypothesis seems quite feasible. Between delegates, super delegates, electoral college, Supreme court, voting scams, Florida and Ohio the reality is that Presidents are chosen. The rest is a grand illusion; a puppet show to soothe our rapidly diminishing sensibilities. The powers that be have had two decades of the Clinton/Bush family regimes. I am sure they are expecting at least five more.
With this in mind I ask you to continue speaking truth and wisdom to your audiences. It resonates deep within their human spirit and soul. Do this because the price you would have to pay is not one that you are willing to pay. This is because the price is something far greater than hard work and commitment to your country. Actually, commitment to your country isn't even a requirement any more. Simply rap yourself in the flag and wear your pin. We are in a day and time where brutish, loudmouth heroin addicts are given radio shows to voice support for all things Republican. We are in a day and time where leading Democratic contenders can sweep the accomplishments of Martin Luther King under the rug and drag out black marionettes to support their cause.
Give up your run for President, Senator Obama. Don't do this because you wouldn't be a good President. Do it because they won't let you be a great president. The position has been emasculated. To tell you the truth the President doesn't even have high enough security clearance to really know what is going on in this country. So, Senator Obama, do the world a favor and travel around the world and speak to the world. Your words are those of courage, peace and prosperity. In the world you will find an audience. In the office of the President, which I doubt the special interests and media will allow you; I fear you will only find disappointment.
Sincerely,
Jonas Holmes III
