If you want to search obituary records online, I highly recommend DeathRecords. DeathRecords database contains more than 77 million obituary & death records. It is by far one of the most comprehensive obituary search engine I have found.
On DeathRecords homepage, there are a number of useful tools at your disposal. On the left hand side, all of the states are listed. By clicking on any one of these, it will take you to a new page where you can fill in different kinds of information. It enables you to search by county, or to search for obituaries just by entering the first and last name of the person you are looking for.
On the right hand side of the homepage, there are a number of different resources to help you in your search. You can search their online newspaper obituary collection. Here you will be asked different questions relating to the death and it will generate results for you. You can also order birth or death records online.
