My Letters From & To George W. Bush.

Ken Hughes
I get a lot of mail from various Republican identities most of it is from the senate since Iīm a member of one of their political clubs. Every once in a while I get a letter from the President. They all start about the same, "Hi Ken this is George, I just wanted to drop you a line thanking you for your continual support. By the way did you know even though youīve been a faithful supporter in the past you can still send in an additional 25, 50, 100, or 2,500 dollars to help defeat those nasty Democrats? The request for money is repeated in every other paragraph just to make sure I get the drift.

I enjoy hearing from my president, some how it makes me feel closer to my government. Itīs like hearing from a kid in college, first the smooz then the request for money more smooz and more requests for money. Most of my letters from George were probably written by a Reagan aid and recycled for all of their originality. Donīt get me wrong for the choices we had in 2000 and 2004 Iīm dammed glad George Bush was around. Rather than bombing baby formula factories and Chinese Embassies and running from the battle field George Bush bombed Terrorists. Georgeīs Army [Our Army] sent them packing back to their caves in the mountains.

I write a lot about politics but Iīm not sure I understand all I think I know about the subject. For an example I canīt understand why a person would campaign for two years and spend upwards of 100 million dollars for a job that at best they can only recoup 4 million in eight years, and thatīs only if their lucky, is it for the perks of Air Force One? When I got the presidents letter I was confused. I had already sent the RNC money I wondered why they were asking for additional contributions. I read somewhere they had 50 million dollars in the bank and had out done the Democrats by at least 10 million dollars. Why was it costing the RNC and the DNC nearly 90 million dollars to elect a president and congress? That isnīt including the millions candidates raise. I wondered why it takes nearly a billion dollars to elect a president and then wind up with someone we donīt think does the job. That is the one office we all assumed isnīt for sale.

Day two and there are already persons ready to call the new president a failure for not doing a better job. What motivates man to seek such abuse, power yes but the power isnīt absolute they must share with the congress the courts and the bureaucracy. By the time the power is divided up no one person can say with any degree of certainty "I am in charge!" they can only deny their share of responsibility.

In the case of congress they reapply every two and six years to be our representatives in Washington and that repeats its self an undetermined number of times. Their campaign slogans never very, "My opponent has or would destroy this nation" if not stopped by me at the bridge over the Potomac. Look what I have done TO [strike that] FOR my constituents as your elected representative.

The founding fathers those magnificent bast**ds had the foresight to see what was coming down the road to liberty and freedom. In their infinite wisdom they knew what one mans freedom would be was another mans invasion of rights. Benjamin Franklinīs eldest son was sent to prison for supporting the British in the American Revolution, This wasnīt the first time father and son has split on political issues nor would it be the last. Mans individual freedom is the most sacred belief one can have it often goeīs beyond religion and family nor should it be sold for 30 pieces of silver. Does this mean we should buy our representation as if it were sold at Wal Mart? Shouldnīt it be the responsibility of those running for office to finance them-selves? Why should a persons running for the highest offices in the country panhandle for coins like Organ Grinders Monkeys.

Perhaps its time we all wrote letters to the president telling him or her what "We the People" expect for our money. That itīs time they listened to the public and not the professional handlers they employ with our hard earned contributions. These focus group sitting around a table drinking designer water canīt know whatīs in the publicīs mind nor do they care.

George I appreciated hearing from you but please stop writing for money, eight years of supporting you is enough. Now that youīre being fired may I suggest you go out and look for a real job? Try being a Cowboy I think youīll like it.

SENATORīS…… OBAMA, CLINTON AND McCAIN…… WHEN AND IF THE PUBLIC DECIDES TO CHANGE WASHINGTON WE WILL START WITH THE PRESIDENT AND THEN CONGRESS. IT WILL BE A MEANINGFUL CHANGE NOT JUST HYPERBOLY.
