Stupid Boortz Advocates 'OK Corral' at Student Lecture Halls

Patrick Lockyer
America goes on and on in denial of having a renegade attitude of self preservation that occasionally results in these killings. The trend will continue. Neal Boortz will continue to blame the students for not being armed and the gun lovers will continue to state that not enough guns was the problem. If only the students were sitting there armed it would have turned out so much better. I wish I has a crystal ball and the power to see this macho man deal with a desperate suicidal attacker in those same circumstances. Students don´t go to lectures tooled up for violence and most intellectuals would shy away from pulling the trigger on anyone in those circumstances anyway and also the ones who resort to gun violence are usually quite adept in terms of aim and steadiness so are not likely to be deterred that easily. Finally the suicider has made up their mind to kill to the death. Not many of us are that desperate that we will go down fighting like Bonny and Clyde and will take as many with them as possible. Then to cap it all they have the element of surprise.

I imagine we all have gnashed our teeth over being badly treated and have lost sleep over the business of revenge. I have had 65 years of moments to feel revengeful and lost sleep at times. I get over it and get on with life. I don´t have that much to show in a monetary sense for my 65 years but do not sulk around being envious over it. The Virginia Tech shooter seemed to have a fairly good life mapped out for him on the surface but obviously was not happy at what he felt he suffered in the process of achieving it. He must have got to a breaking point of it no longer being worth it. It is hard for most of us to understand what that would take. Boortz with all his good fortune of education and silver spoonitus would never have the savvy to understand. His mindset is of personal greed and money grabbing independence being the way to go through life. You hear it in all his arguments and mindset. It permeates to all his Georgia adorers. Go Figure

I had never known anyone commit suicide in the UK before coming here in 2001. I was coming to Paradise at Pensacola Beach I was assured. That picture of paradise soon dissolved when a young woman took her nice soft top car to the beach road and blew her brains out. She had a hair lip and her ex was remarrying. I just could not contemplate the reasoning. She was still living in paradise was she not? I know that half of my city of Peterborough Cambs would have died or donated a limb to be living her lifestyle? Go Figure?

Not having guns accessible must be a factor in not being able to do this ´town hall´ and ´lecture hall´ and ´local mall´ shootout to go out in infamy. The ex army bayonet or the illegal dueling pistol is not quite going to cut it when you want to create world attention in Britain. However you will still get these gun lovers pointing out how terrible the gun figures are in the UK. In point if fact I know noone of my acquaintance in all my years who has been affected or who knows anyone else who has been affected by gun crime. I have never had to deal with a gun bearing police officer or spoken to a police officer who would want to be wearing a gun. I have never read of anyone in the UK being shot at or killed over: 1) shoplifting a shirt. as in Jacksonville recently 2) missile throwing from a moving vehicle, as in Jacksonville recently 3) standing on your own doorstep and asking plain clothes officers to depart your property as happened a while ago in Jacksonville to an 80 year old. "Have gun Will fire it" seems to be the norm?

In the case of advocating more guns it seems that the ´Town Hall´ killer recently was able to add to his arsenal by killing the police officer outside first. Now he had an additional weapon and he achieved all his objectives of taking his persecutors with him. There can be no remedy to that kind of mentality. It did appear in the issue that someone had singled him out for special attention and that may have been avoided. It seems that most Americans I talk to about that are more interested in the consequences of the killer dying than in whether it might have been aggravated behavior. School bullying and persecution does seem to be the thread repeated in many of these cases. Mental health is on the back burner. I realized that six years ago in Pensacola when a naked man was going through the streets banging his head against shop windows. He was eliminated as dangerous. Had it been a dog he would have been doped and treated. America does not have a program for the ones who stop taking their medicine other than elimination or incarceration.

Neal Boortz yet again Feb 18th bases his diatribe on the fact that these students need to be armed. The one who is able to take out the rabid killer is a hero. The idea of two such people suddenly standing and joining in and then others also joining in is no more than the OK Corral mindset or Dodge City. Who is to know who is who or who started it. You have bedlam. Boortz is too thick to see it. He also advocates the power of capitalism. The companies rule here and in UK the people rule. My wife and her colleagues here in Jacksonville are held hostage and denied raises and threatened the sack where the equivalent in the UK are paid the going rate. These companies advertise to the max, pay the executives to the max and make them work unpaid overtime when their inventory gets loaded up. The greed of companies is manifested all through the system and is seen as rudeness on the roads and in business and in politics. The police are rude and neighbors are rude. Back to guns.

The killers girlfriend quotes:

"He had been seeing a psychiatrist, Baty said, and was taking an anti-depressant. But Kazmierczak had stopped taking the medication three weeks ago, "because it made him feel like a zombie," she said. "He wasn't acting erratic," she said. "He was just a little quicker to get annoyed." he knew he had purchased at least two guns. He told her they were for home protection".

I know that my two daughters and my three step sons in England would never have been comfortable with a person they hung out with having a gun. I certainly don´t think that ANY sane person in the UK would let a depressive either buy or keep a gun if they were aware of depression or medication being an issue. I can rest in peace that no-one I know in the whole of Europe and that includes the nations that DO have armed police, that wherever my friends or family or acquaintances should travel for work or vacation, they will never even hear a gunshot or hear of a shooting. When I used to come to Orlando years ago I was told that British tourists were singled out for crime as they 1) spoke English and 2) would have no guns. I passed my US driving test whilst on vacation in 1994 and was told by a Scottish Pawnbroker that I could now avail myself of his array of weapons. Shoulder holsters and ankle holsters. I did not avail myself I assure you and there was in incident whilst I was there whereby a kiosk owner was robbed of his own gun and hurt. People were not aware of all this danger whilst on vacation. This tendency in America will continue of shootout suicides and the NRA will go on justifying the gun lovers.
