Is Obama Stealing Bill Clinton´s Black Persona

Ken Hughes
For years Bill Clinton has taken pride in the presumption he was Americas first black president. Barrack Obama comes along a man who isn´t really black as we know blacks and steals Bill Clintons thunder, I ask you is that fair after Bill Clinton worked so hard to earn the title?

It seems Obama is kicking butt on the campaign trail. This isn´t the way it was scripted to go, Hillary was to be the anointed Democratic candidate and Obama was to be window dressing. His reward would have been second seat on the ticket and in eight years he would have had his turn or unless another Clinton showed up.

Several things happened on the way to the party. The Clintons assumed too much and took Hillary´s campaign for granted. She spent too much of her campaign energy running against George Bush who wasn´t running. Hillary waffled on the issues giving each group precisely what they wanted even when it was contradictory to what she professes to believe. It was obvious Hillary was ignoring the national media and concentrating on her immediate audiences. The Clintons aren´t accustomed to being questioned and they assumed they had a lock on the Media, That´s the way it had always been.

One of the assumptions the Clinton campaign made was the Slick Willy factor. They believed Bill Clinton campaigning along side or in place of Hillary was like cash in the bank. What they obviously weren´t aware of was Bill Clinton has become a joke since leaving office. His inability to control his actions and his libido has made him somewhat irrelevant as an elder statesman. Then there´s the feeling a second Clinton is the Whitehouse would be a third term for Bill Clinton.

I think most can agree Hillary is not a nice person she´s a screamer and has a famous temper when crossed, for the most part she boarders on being obnoxious while Husband Bill is almost memorizing in campaign speeches. There´s no kinder gentler Hillary and she can´t fake it. She lacks her husband´s charismatic persona, his ability to lull a crowd into submission.

Barrack Obama is between a rock and a hard place, If Obama challenges former president Bill Clinton it can be presumed he´s showing disrespect for the office of president. When he challenges Hillary regarding the vitriolic comments coming from her campaign she says "My husband said that not me." I can´t recall a time when a former president campaigned so vigorously for a nominee. Normally former presidents don´t endorse nominees. It´s unprecedented for a former president to become the attack dog for a candidate, the fact that he´s Hillary´s husband doesn´t alter tradition. There seems to be a great deal about the Clintons that doesn´t follow and respect presidential traditions.

It´s been sometime since there´s been a political machine quite like the Clintons. One political annalist has compared it to that of Joseph Kennedy

how he manipulated his three son´s political careers. Bill Clinton honed his political skills in the Honky Tonks of Hot Springs Arkansas. Until way beyond the mid 20th century Hot Springs Arkansas was sin city America. Gambling, alcohol, and prostitution were all illegal but readily available Hot Springs was a nest of political corruption, not just in Arkansas, it became the capital of political corruption across the country. Under the table deals were made for elections across the country, Bill Clinton listen and learned, tutored by his mother who was well connected in the field of corrupt politics.

How is a clean cut boy from the Chicago Hood going to compete with years of political maneuvering? You can bet Da´Mayor Daily [old man Daily] would never have endorsed Obama, not because he´s black but because he´s never been part of the machine. The Clintons still have the old political machine mentality with enough hangers-on to make it work, maybe not as easley as before but work it will. How can Obama overcome the Clinton hostility and still maintain his "All American Boy Image?" If he once refers to Bill Clinton as a…… decaying fatherless child, [rotten bastard] ,,,,,,what he´s gained will go in the toilet.

Conservative Republicans aren´t concerned who the Democratic nominee will be it doesn´t make any difference. It´s obvious they are all following the path of former president Jimmy Carter and the results are obvious even now.

Jimmy Carter´s only accomplishment was assuring the election of Ronald Reagan. To say Barrack Obama is the best candidate on the Democratic ticket is misleading, he´s the least destructive. His inexperience will allow congress to play him like a cheap violin. Hillary on the other hand has some chips to cash in, or if you prefer secrets to be let out. Congress is big on politely blackmailing its own.

I have a great deal of empathy for Barrack Obama, he´s a man charting new territory. Every time a black steps up to the plate as a first contender the allegations of the lack of qualifications are monumental. Allowed an even playing field without road blocks usually the blacks succeed beyond any expectation. Barrack Obama grew up in a state where minority ethnicity was the norm, Hawaii is a colorless state. At University his color wasn´t an issue, he began to experience racial predigest working with the under performers in the Chicago Hood. Barrack only understands denial of opportunity secondhand. Does that mean he can´t relate, not at all.

The question now is will Barrack Obama be a president for all the people or will he be an advocate for more unwarranted welfare for those black or white who can´t seem to get off their a**es and make something of themselves. I say this because I´ve seen poverty in third world countries and by comparison there´s no poverty in America nor is there lack of opportunity. We know from past experience handing out billions of dollars isn´t going to eliminate poverty. What the government needs to do is differentiate between poverty and under performance. Can and will an Obama president make that distinction. Will Obama chose to be a financially responsible leader or will he be just another tax and spend politician.

Our system of government allows for change. The voters are given the opportunity to make changes every two and four years. The first line of accountability belongs to the voters. They are given the chance to make corrections, if they choose not to then who´s to blame? Think before you vote then vote intelligently.
