Obama Thumps Team Clinton in South Carolina

Alan E. Moses
Sen. Obama with 55% to the Clintons 27% the people of South Carolina have tired of the Clinton tactics of misdirection. Democratic leaders have also begun to become uncomfortable with these tactics used by the Clintons so well over the years. And now voters have spoken too that enough is enough. Caroline Kennedy endorses Obama in the Sunday New York Times Op/Ed saying that Obama has the leadership qualities most like her father JFK.

Are voters becoming reminded of the faults that became more apparent as time went on during the 90īs of the Clinton type of politics? Is Bill running around tooting his own horn and acting as though he were running again getting on the nerves of Americans? Do Americans realize the secret service detail that Bill has and how expensive it is to pay for on the campaign trail? Who is paying for this?

The questions being answered Saturday in South Carolina are simple and to the point. We want change and are tired of Washington politics. America has been on the decline since the late 80īs and despite claims that the Clintons previous two terms gave us a better life the facts will tell you otherwise. NAFTA cost America millions of good jobs. Most of the jobs created during this time are not middle class jobs but those we classify as working poor.

Obama brings us hope and a positive attitude for our future as we should never try to go back to the past. We should look forward and find the solutions to correct the past. Sen. Obama was on the streets of Chicago working with the poor and unemployed that were not feeling the great Clinton economic boom. He knows that if the unemployment numbers say 5% they are in reality more like 10%. He knows that politicians have used race to gain support but also divides the community. He is asking us all to come together and move forward reflecting on the past and the mistakes made. And most of all fix what is broken and create a future where the truth and honesty can again be part of the American Dream.

Can you really believe that the Clintons who have strong connections to special interests are going to work for you or will they stay loyal to those interests? While Sen. Clinton was belittling President Bush for even thinking of giving a company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) the contract to run our major ports. Her husband Bill Clinton was and does receive a substantial income from the Crown Prince of Dubai as an investment advisor. Bill then attempted to have his onetime press secretary and close friend Joe Lockhart to represent these interests. Robert Novak reported that Lockhartīs asking price was too high. Donīt think that this confusing split between Clintons didnīt have a reason. As they say when there is smoke there is fire.

The Clintons use the good guy bad guy technique and have done so for years. It appears to be wearing thin as voters are not as ignorant as the Clintons wish them to be. Sen. Obama inspires us while the Clintons deflate hope, Sen. Obama asks us to join him in changing America, The Clintons claim that only they can change things, Sen. Obama wants us to take America into a new direction, The Clintons want to go back to what they claim are the good old days. South Carolina chose to move ahead and it is up to the rest of America to do the same.

One point missed is that in all races so far Sen. Obama has won the most delegates in Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina and tied in New Hampshire. This is something nobody mentions as the truth is Sen. Obama has beaten or tied Sen. Clinton in each state up to now. Many will say Nevada? Yes he received one more delegate than Sen Clinton. It is the system and as we have seen in Presidential politics it is not always the total votes. This is more proof that this once great political machine of the Clintons has lost momentum. They are being out maneuvered by the so-called less experienced candidate who is showing America that we can change things if we wish.
