Body Scrub Recipe for Smooth, Moisturized Skin
With that, it makes sense to apply your lotion or moisturizer in the shower. But when you opt for a body scrub instead of just a body lotion, you can further sooth the scaly look of dry skin. Plus, while saturating your skin with moisture, body scrubs also remove dead layers of the skin that can exaggerate the look of dry skin.
Ingredients for making a body scrub:
Utensils:
Mixing directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the natural base oil, vitamin E and essential oil. Stir the oils together with a spoon for two minutes to help the oils blend into a consistent mixture.
Note: Not consistently blending the oils will give your body scrub an unbalanced feel, meaning that the essential oil may be concentrated in certain parts of your body scrub and not others.
2. Add the glycerin to the oil mixture and blend for one minute.
3. Slowly pour in the crushed sea salt while mixing it with the other ingredients. Keep pouring the crushed sea salt until the body scrub reaches a consistency that you prefer. For example, having a higher concentration of salt exfoliates the skin more, while increasing the concentration of oils makes for a gentler, more moisturizing scrub.
4. Scoop the scrub into a jar, cover it with a lid and store it until you are ready to use it.
There you have it, a unique spa-grade body scrub just for you. Each time you make a body scrub, you can alter the base oil and essential oils to create a new sensual experience each time you shower.
