Barack Obama takes Iowa, Next comes New Hampshire

Janurary 3rd of 2008 will go down in American politics as a date that showed the world that our system is ready for change. The turnout was over 230,000 in support of candidates for change led by Obama and Edwards on the Democratic side. 68% of those that participated turned a blind eye towards the Clinton machine. With 38% for Obama, and 30% for Edwards Americans have proven they are tired of the Washington regulars and their blank promises.

Barack Obama, the son of a Kenyan national father and American mother has shown that there are still reasons to believe in the American dream. With his ability to listen to what Americans say and to build an organization that works from the bottom up Freshman Senator Barack Obama knows what Americans want and need. He has the Charisma and style of a leader that we have lacked for years. He doesn’t talk at you, he talks to you. He listens to what people say and responds thoughtfully and with obvious understanding.

The speech he gave after this win will be noted as another in a long line of great speeches by this thoughtful politician. He is telling us that yes you can change the path your on and you can take this nation back from those that have destroyed our hopes and dreams. The divisions within the country have been created and sustained to continue the business as usual mentality that we have seen for several decades now in American politics. As was spoken of by Abraham Lincoln “A house divided shall fall” and the past few decades have proven this theory. As Barack firmly believes that being united is our best chance to overcome the problems we now face as a nation.

Understanding that we are a people of many ideas and values he realizes that all must be respected and incorporated into a united front against the problems of the twenty first century. He once spoke of the nonsense of having the most powerful military in the world but lacking any diplomatic viability. He understands that an olive branch can hold as much strength as any weapon known to man.

It truly is time for us to take this government into new and positive waters. Eliminate the idea that to lead you must create fear among the people. Our constitution promises us that if the government we have is not working we have the right to change it. The chance to change has come in 2008 as the new beginning can happen. Regain your voice and power and as Senator Obama once said “It’s only when you hitch yourself up to something bigger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”

This election year will decide the fate of America as we make the choice to continue on a path of economic abuse and loss of the rights we so proudly claim. Is the loss of our freedom the price we pay for others to be free? Or will we decide to believe again in the hopes and dreams of generations past.

Barack Obama is the leader of Change, He didn’t grab the slogan because it works for others who have no intention of making it happen. If you keep slipping on the ice by following the same path it may be time to try another path and avoid the ice. Join with others and lead yourselves out of the problems instead of just following the same ideas that aren’t even your own. Allow yourself to be heard again and regain the reigns of our government. Barack Obama asks us to join him on this walk into a new and better place. He is giving you the chance to walk with him and not behind him as other candidates do.
