How to Make Low-Calorie, Homemade Salad Dressing

Naweko San-Joyz
Excuse me. I’m about to start another conspiracy theory. Americans are fat because they plop spoonfuls of 300-calorie salad dressing on freshly prepared salads. It’s true. Now follow me, sheepishly, and I’ll show you how to escape stealthily fattening salad dressings and explain how to make your own low calorie salad ecstasy.

This recipe makes one-half cup of low calorie salad dressing

Ingredients:

1.5 ounces of fresh squeezed lemon juice

    1 ounce of olive oil

    1 ounce of balsamic vinegar

    Pinch of crushed red peppers

    Pinch of thyme

    Pinch of mustard powder

Now mix all of the ingredients together, preferably with a hand blender, and gently pour the dressing over your salad. You can adjust this recipe at anytime by switching out the herbs with dried ingredients you have stowed in your cabinets. Then again, you can switch the balsamic vinegar with vinegar pickled peppers or olives.
