Marble Tile Installation Basics 101
Always choose to start with a clean, dry surface. If the surface of the floor is not clean, marble tiles will become loose easily after you install them. The floor surface should also be level or else marble tiles installed on top of them can crack easily.
I know these are very basic knowledge but you have no ideas how many mistakes I’ve made that cost me a lot of money. So it is very important, the surface is clean and level.
Now , this part you can have fun with. Play with your marble tiles to create the layout you want. When you find the layout that you want mark the center. That is where you will be starting.
Watch out for the color thinset you use on your marble tile. Nearly all of the light colored marble tiles will have a degree of transparency to them. Using the wrong color thinset can change or distort the color of your marble tiles. Some sellers won't tell you that when they tell you how to install marble tile.
Use spacers to insure proper separation. Make sure that your marble tiles are level and let them dry overnight.
