AFL: New Rush Positions
GRUBER PROMOTION HEADLINES RUSH FRONT OFFICE CHANGES
The Chicago Rush announced today it has promoted Curt Gruber to vice president of marketing and business development. In addition, David McClamroch has been promoted to director of corporate sales and Laura Visin has been promoted to community relations manager. The Rush also has added three new account executives to its front office – Shannon Allen, David Hodge and Jeremiah Zimmer.
We have some very talented people who have worked hard over the past several years to help the organization grow,” said Rush president/general manager Mike Polisky. “We saw an opportunity to reward them with some additional responsibility and bring some new faces into the organization as well. We think this new structure gives us a great dynamic in the front office that will make us stronger as we head into the 2006 Arena Football League season.”
Gruber originally joined the Rush as director of marketing in April 2001, and was promoted to vice president of marketing in January 2003. He will continue to be responsible for the team’s overall brand image and the creation and execution of the club’s advertising campaigns and all collateral material. In his new role, Gruber also will manage the team’s account executives and oversee all ticket sales initiatives.
Prior to joining the team Gruber worked at Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, where he served as senior marketing manager for Juicy Fruit, Doublemint, Wrigley’s Spearmint and Extra.
McClamroch has been a member of the Rush staff since he was hired as an account executive in January 2001. He was then promoted to corporate sales manager in October 2001. McClamroch will continue to work directly with Mike Gordon, vice president of sales, on all the team’s corporate partnerships, which have grown by more than 40 percent during the past year.
Visin joined the Rush as an account executive in July 2003. As community relations manager, Visin will oversee the team’s “Rush to Read” program, youth football initiatives - including its Youth Football Ironman of the Year award - hospital visits and all other community activities.
Allen and Zimmer join the Rush after spending time as interns with the team. Hodge comes to the Rush from Quill Office Supply.
The Chicago Rush kicks of its season January 29, at Colorado. The Rush home opener is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, against the New York Dragons.
