It’s just beginning now, the 8-2 record has been reached, after defeating Syracuse 34-10. With this in, the Irish have secured a BCS Bowl bid.

Charlie Weis has been the answer to the prayers of the Fighting Irish faithful this season. Weis has used his high tactical skills and defensive mind to shape and mold this Irish program into the country’s best team.

Leadership hasn’t only come from Weis and Quarterback Brady Quinn, the Irish have also gotten leadership from their class of 34 seniors, some of them have an option of applying to the NCAA for clearance to play in the 2006-2007 season, but for some, today could have been the last time they will run touch the sign, and run out of the tunnel in South Bend. Senior Maurice Stovall caught 3-90yds with 1TD.

Quinn once again had a great game and has once again showed why the announcement on December 10, in New York should go like this, "The Winner of the 2005 Heisman Trophy is Brady Quinn, Quarterback, Notre Dame." Seriously come on people, Quinn collected 21-37 for 270yds and 2TD's. All day he was scanning the field, reading the defense, and doing what a 1st Round Draft Pick does and he did it better than Eli Manning ever did. My question for everyone out there, and especially Woody Paige (ESPN Cold Pizza/ Around The Horn), is when will Brady Quinn get the RESPECT he deserves? What else does he have to do? Someone please explain this. I am totally stumbled. Quinn has continued week after week this season to show everyone why he is among the TOP 3 best Quarterbacks in the NCAA.

Matt Leinart is a good Quarterback notice I didn’t say SOLID. Take away Reggie Bush, and LenDale White, and Leinart is just another Quarterback. Quinn doesn’t have the power around him like Leinart does. This is the same situation that Kurt Warner had when he played for the Rams. Warner had Marshall Faulk, Tory Holt, and Isaac Bruce. What happened? They won the Super Bowl. Then Warner went to New York, yea we all know how that ended up. Then he went to Arizona. I guess that was better for him right? WRONG , now Josh McCown has shown him up. Leinart is the same as Warner, an "AVERAGE QB" lucky enough to have stars around him, but someone who will fall if there is no talent. Quinn has earned the Heisman and NO ONE else deserves it.

Saturday in South Bend really was about the Seniors who’ve given their heart and souls to this program. Here is a list of all 34.
