Light Workers and the New World Order

Victoria Hardy
A new religion is being birthed right before our eyes and the focus of this new belief system is unconditional love, light and a desire for more tolerance to grace our planet. Their church is the Internet, where they can share ideas, gain followers or find leaders. They call themselves the Light Workers and they come from all branches of society, from professionals to drop outs. They speak of a Golden Age, which they are attempting to usher in through group meditations and focusing on the positive.

The Light Workers have turned away from accepted religious ideas and their doctrine is comprised of a myriad of ideas from physics and metaphysics to Native legends and the Law of Attraction. They believe that the earth will soon undergo a radical change, as will every resident of the planet, and the world is preparing to step into a new dimension of time, when all will be one. The word ascension is heavily used as they ready themselves for this transition. Some say that the earth will soon leave the 3-D existence and step into the 4th dimension, where living is surprisingly reminiscent of the Christian version of heaven. Others state we will be stepping into the 5th, 6th or even 7th dimension.

Many Light Workers suggest they are here to save humanity, stating they possess a pipeline to wiser beings and channeling is very popular. Whereas, channelers of old spoke mostly with the deceased, these new-age channelers converse with higher beings located in different dimensions or other worlds. Some believe that before the earth change occurs, around 2012, they will be whisked away to their true home planet, while others will stay here to ease the transition from 3-D to 4-D. No matter the constellation, with enough searching you can find a Light Worker channeling beings from that world and surprisingly, many Light Workers have gained quite a following.

The Light Workers are as varied as their ideas, but the commonality between them is a desire to see love and light spread across the world, or at least, their version of that environment. They speak of compassion, tolerance and a time when we are joined, as one, with a shared vision of the new world. They describe a Utopia where wars no longer rage, pollution is a memory and we will all work together, unified, for the betterment of society.

Despite the beauty of the words the Light Workers convey, I grow nervous when people begin speaking of a Utopian society, because what is heaven for one, could surely be hell for another and who makes the decisions? And I have also discovered a disturbing lack of empathy when some speak of the upcoming death toll of millions, caused by earth changes, disease, weather or starvation, as a necessary means to accommodate the new world in which we will live.

Another trend I have noticed of late is an arrogance emanating from Light Workers when their belief system is challenged and a pattern of stating that those who do not agree with them are living in fear and ignorance. They seem to imply that their way is the only way, much the same as the archaic religious systems from the past, which they have discarded for being too rigid.

The Light Workers tend to agree that discussing a negative situation or event, will give it power and bring it into existence. They also feel if people experience negativity in their lives it is because they have chosen that path, have wallowed in negativity and have created that darkness through their thoughts. So although they speak of compassion and empathy, the idea that we are guilty of creating negativity if we experience it, negates the foundation of what the words compassion and empathy mean.

Perhaps, I am old fashioned, but ideals like individuality and freedom are important to me. History tells us that Utopian societies are usually only good for the leaders and the masses tend to suffer. And it grows difficult for me to see the difference between the nightmarish images of the New World Order and the world the Light Workers describe, under the surface they appear to be one and the same, only one is disguised with pretty words.
