Charity is a big cause which everyone should do from the side with, from small start

A high developed society, not should only be a highly developed technology society; a legal perfect society; but should also be a progressive society with high and good moral; a caring society with love and kind-hearted nature. Charity is indispensable in such a society.
In addition to the government and charitable social groups organized acts, charity is everyone's participatory, with the side from the small scale of spontaneous acts of kindness.
I know one pair of Chinese old Couple. They were born in poor families which had a lot of children in 30s of the 20th century. They had experienced the War of Resistance against Japan in China, China Liberation War; China Great Leap Forward; China Three years of natural Disasters; China Cultural Revolution; China Reform and Opening Up. The male joined revolution which leaded by Chinese Communist Party when he was 12-year-old as the Head of Children, the Female became a women leader. They worked very hard, the male retired as a National cadre; the female retired as an eight level skill worker. They lived a stable life in China now.
Their parents and most of their brothers and sisters lived in rural areas. They were very filial piety to parents and maintenance to living a good life until they passed away; they tried their best to help all friends and relatives, regarded them as their own family members.
During the time of Three years of natural disasters, most of china people did not have enough food. As a National cadre and a skill worker, each of them only received 14kg food per person per month which supplies by the government, but their parents, brothers and sisters who lived in rural areas did not have enough food to eat. So they tried to only eat a little bit food with most potherbs and saved their food to their parents and their brothers and sisters. Because of them, none of their family members died from hungry during the Three years of Natural Disasters.
During their whole life, they lived a very thrifty life, tried to save every cent. But when their brothers and sisters wanted to build houses, they would give them some money; when their brothers and sisters'children wanted to go to school or started to do business, they would give them some money; when their brothers and sisters who passed away, they would help them for funeral; when their brothers and sisters'children got marriage, they would help for wedding. One of their sisters became a widow; they took the responsibility to maintenance her life.
They also tried to help other people. One day in 1970s, the man visited a farmer¡¯s home, when he saw that children did not have food and clothes, he gave them 30 Yuan. And at that time, 30 Yuan was his one month salary. One day in 2006, one villager's houses fired, they donated money to them for re-building houses. Government gave 2000 Yuan, they gave 4000 Yuan, other villagers also donated some money.They also had helped many people who had experienced disasters.
Now China Economics grow fast, people in rural area do not suffer from hungry, they are still keeping showing their kind- heart to others. Caring about the poor; feeding stray cats.....
