After driving on a crowded interstate for hours it was wonderful when we stepped through the door to be greeted with a warm smile by our lovely host, Lynne Fairfield. Within minutes we realized the Inn On Charlotte offered many amenities we did not expect to find. Along with modern amenities like cable TV, wireless internet access, and whirlpool tubs, there is also a well-stocked guest refrigerator, a cozy parlor, and large, airy porches.

One can imagine what it must have been like to live in this beautiful home shortly after it was constructed for Levi Nelson, a local attorney, in 1918. Now, this beautiful home is available throughout the year for guest like my husband and I to enjoy.

In the morning delicious smells filled the house. When we came down stairs we found an amazing home-cooked breakfast. Perhaps, what is most inviting about staying at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast like the Inn On Charlotte is the feeling of being at home.

The Verandah Room

The Inn on Charlotte Bed & Breakfast has 8 beautiful guest rooms. The Verandah Room is a favorite among guests. Along with modern amenities, the Verandah Room has a spacious Jacuzzi tub just perfect for two! One of my favorite moments was sitting together on our romantic balcony overlooking the historic street below and sharing a glass of complimentary wine.

There are plenty of opportunities to unwind when you stay at the Inn On Charlotte! The Inn on Charlotte is not only a romantic getaway destination; it is also located in the heart of historic St. Augustine. Step just around the corner to 15 Hypolita St and you´ll discover some wonderful treats at Claude´s Chocolate. I loved the Chocolate covered almond´s. Stop by for a sample and you´ll find there are plenty of heavenly chocolate creations to savor at Claude´s Chocolate, which only uses the freshest ingredients. Hand made in St Augustine; the chocolate is so good you have to taste it to believe it!

Our wonderful hostess, Lynne Fairchild was able to suggest a number of great attractions and sites to explore during our stay. Along with taking a Carriage Ride, we also enjoyed the Old Town Trolley Tours, which is another great way to explore the picturesque city.

Fun with Food & Wine

Among the special packages recently available at the Inn on Charlotte was the celebration of Fun with Food & Wine. Guests will enjoy fun and entertaining classes in Souffle´s, Hors D´oeuvre´s or Desserts… (Sun thru Thur - excluding holidays).

During the Fun with Food & Wine celebration a Cordon Bleu trained Chef will teach guests how to make ´glamorous´ food that will dazzle their guests when they return home and prepare for their next party. Owner Lynne Fairfield will even offer food & wine pairing tips for all of the dishes prepared during this special event.

Another popular getaway special is the 2nd Honeymoon on Charlotte Street package is planned for any 3 midweek nights (Sunday-Thursday in the Verandah or Southern Royal rooms).
