NEVER TOO LATE?
Mr. James runs an advert agency who rarely gets good prospects due to large competitors in his locality. He had an appointment that kept him out of town for so many days. So he got his phone hooked up to the answering machine while he was away for his long trip.
While he was away, a client rang his phone and left this message:
Congratulations Mr. Jimmy, the job you have been waiting for is finally ready. Meet me at Tasty Restaurant on Thursday by 6:00pm for your check and the ad copy we wanted. Failure to show up means you are not interested. Thank you.”
For months, he’s been expecting this BIG pay check that will literally and physically do the magic. He got home tired on Wednesday, walk to the phone and said, “OK, I will be back to hear you out” he got a cold candy from his cold box, slump on the sofa and dosed off till the next day. As he normally does, he was suppose to filter his voice mail, but he didn’t. That is how he missed $20,000 check.
In our loins are the possibilities of millions of lives. Could we but find time and opportunity and utilize the last bit and every bit of the unborn life that is in us, we could become the fathers of nations and populate continents.
Imagine if you are given a $500 check every morning consecutively for 2 weeks. At the end of the week, you will $3,500 from Sunday to Saturday. If you could carefully soak away $250 everyday with no hassle, you would have accumulated $1,750. Whao! But you spent it as you have it, “Oh, I got to buy this and that for my kids”, you will end up having $0 savings. “Poor boy”. Delay is the deadliest form of denial.
Do you love that? Off course not. Procrastination is a big disease! Wait a minute. In the next five minutes, I want you to take a journey back into your past lives. Opportunities you flaunted due to this deadly virus. Business transaction that got flushed down the drain of ‘never too late’. Kill procrastination today! Yes, I mean it.
Procrastination is an habit, attitude of postponing what can be done now till tomorrow. It is one of the oldest disease that has rocked the planet earth right from inception. So many individuals, group, and corporate entities still fall victim of this destructive and deadly virus.
We have heard over and over again, “Don’t worry, I will finish it up tomorrow”, or something like, “Oh sorry, can’t make it today again, what about next week?”. You must kill procrastination for you to achieve your goals.
No task is a long one but the task on which one dare not start. It becomes a nightmare. The famous English Poet – Edward Young said, “Procrastination is the thief of time.”
