Dear Natalie Foster:
If I were an American I would run out and by your button, but I am not an American and I am basically broke, therefore, I will not run out and buy your button.
My problem is that I am a social scientist and free press journalist who does not fully understand why your President Barack Obama is stalling on the environment issue?
Why does Barack Obama believe that Carbon sequestration is a solution to pollution? There are so many alternative methods for harnessing energy today that choosing to bury Co2 sounds, and most likely is, ridiculous! Is he doing it to get the Chinese to bury their C02 emissions? I would understand that because China does burn a lot of Coal...but why does Barack continue to import dirty Oil from the Tar Sands of Canada? Will he wait until the Hole becomes so large, Canada disappears?
The World is not waiting for the United States to take a stand. Russian social policies are ahead of the U.S. when it comes to moving rapidly away from fossil fuels, and Shanghai China has an Electric Bus system that rivals the best in the world. It certainly is possible to generate Clean Electricity with: Hydro Dams, Wind Generators, Solar Heat, Windmills on top of Office Tower buildings, Geothermal heat sources and slow moving Ocean currents. Energy can also be produced by placing Solar Panels on Electric Automobiles. Simply by parking the Automobile in the Sun, Electricity can be returned to the grid. It is also possible to conserve energy with well insulated houses and buildings and it is possible to produce Electricity every time a human being opens a door, anywhere on Earth. The door gives a small shove...like the power generated when you brake your Car...to a constantly spinning yet heavy and well balanced Electric Turbine within or close to the building. Where there is a high level of human traffic, like Subways and Train Stations and Airport Terminals, human powered spinning Turbines would help produce Electricity for the buildings.
