Iran—While the World Sits Idly By

While the world sits idly by, worried about the criers (public opinion,) Iran is becoming the most powerful military powers in the Middle East. With the help of China and Russia, Iran is building a military Islamic power that will one day—if left unchecked—become a most formidable presence in the world, east or west.

It is widely known that Iran is a terrorist state giving support to several terrorist organizations, yet the criers of the world are willing to speak out against any efforts to rein them in before it is too late to do so.

Iran test fired a new submarine-to-surface missile during war games in the Persian Gulf on Sunday, a show of military might amid a standoff with the West over its nuclear activities.” [1]

But Sunday's firing of the missile came as Iran remains defiant just five days before a deadline imposed by the U.N. Security Council for Tehran to suspend the enrichment of uranium, which can produce both reactor fuel and material usable in nuclear warheads.” [1]

With China and Russia supplying Iran with technical know-how and actual technological supplies, Iran’s versatility—militarily—is advancing very quickly.

Iran's current arsenal includes several types of torpedoes _ including the "Hoot," Farsi for "whale," which was tested for the first time in April and is capable of moving at some 223 mph, up to four times faster than a normal torpedo.”

Kouchaki said the Thaqeb could be fired from any vessel and could escape enemy radar. He said it was built based on domestic know-how, although outside experts say much of the country's missile technology originated from other countries like Russia and China.” [1]

Iran claims that it wants to enrich plutonium for peaceful uses…but are they to be trusted? I think not! Any government, in my opinion, who supports terrorist by given them with a safe haven, financing their terrorist activities, and providing them with weaponry, can not be trusted.

The progress in naval technology has raised concerns in the West that Iran has obtained a greater array of weapons that could hit oil shipments in the Gulf, through which about two-fifths of the world's oil supplies pass.

Tehran has given mixed signals over how it would retaliate if the confrontation with the United States escalates. The oil minister and other government officials have said Iran would never disrupt oil traffic in the Gulf _ but the interior minister warned in March that all options for retaliation were open and noted Iran's strategic position over Gulf traffic.

Iran already is equipped with the Shahab-3 missile, which means "shooting star" in Farsi, and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. An upgraded version of the ballistic missile has a range of more than 1,200 miles and can reach Israel and U.S. forces in the Middle East. [1]

Iran is building a military might and it appears more every day that they have to powerful allies in Russia and especially China. Do we continue to sit idly by and let them build a military power that we, as free people, cannot stop? If you are one of the many who think that if we just leave the Middle East to themselves and not get involved, then I think time will prove what a mistake that is!
