My EMG
First, they strap this electrode thing to my foot, then they took this metal prong thing and started shocking my leg in different places. Now I have the most sensitive of skin and today, you can see the different spots that I was shocked at. Then the neurologist measured both legs and then he had me roll over onto my stomach and then he shocked the back of both legs. All the time calling out numbers to his assistant who was typing them into the computer to make the report to the doctor that ordered this test to be ran in the first place.
Then he had me roll back onto my back and he took this needle and began to stick it into my leg! It was sort of neat to listen to the boom, boom of my muscles. But it was unpleasant when he had me roll over onto my side and bring my knees up to my stomach and then he stuck it into my lower back and I could hear the booming of my lower back.
He then thanked me for being such a good girl and being so still for the testing. I take it that he had patients that day that wasn’t so still. But what he didn’t know that I was so scared, I couldn’t move.
From the measurements, I found out that my left leg is 1 1/2 inches shorter than my right leg, Normally a person has on leg slightly shorter than the other. But at leas now I know why I stumble when I walk and all this time I was stumbling due to the powerful drugs I have been on.
I guess now I know why I wear out the bottom of my left leg of my pants faster then the right leg!
I told Dan that now we know why I tuck my pants into my socks when I wear socks. It’s not a fashion statement as I had thought. It’s a practical matter. It sucks, but now I know why.
So now I get the official results on Saturday when I visit the doctor that ordered the test and get the results from this “Unpleasant Procedure.”
