CRNE Prep in Vancouver is Now a Reality

Mike Catherall
Nursing students preparing for the CRNE need all the help they can get. The CRNE (or Canadian Registered Nurses Exam) is a comprehensive challenge at the end of their regular studies where four years´ worth of material is condensed into one rigorous multiple-choice exam. It puts the knowledge and determination of even the most diligent students to the test.

Unlike the LSAT, GMAT or MCAT (for law, business and medical students, respectively) the CRNE does not have a defined preparation course that can be taken in advance. However, to answer the demand, two enterprising nurses, both graduates from UBC´s Masters o Nursing program have stepped up to craft an effective prep program.

Marlene Burrows sand Laura Housden founded PRIMED Educational Associates this year to guide Vancouver nursing students through the labrynth of questions that the CRNE will pose.

They offer a two-day (8 hour/day) intensive course a few weeks before the exam. The course is custom-designed by the Laura and Marlene to address the very kinds of questions the CRNE will ask.

The course is reasonably priced, at $250, including lunch. Also, as a part of PriMED´s guarantee, they offer a free course for those who need to write again.

So far, the course has been a great success, with almost all of their students passing the CRNE.
