Noynoy, Mar schedule lightning rally in Cagayan de Oro on Sept. 27

Opposition presidential candidate Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and possible running mate Manuel "Mar" Roxas III will barn storm Cagayan de Oro on Sunday, September 27, 2009 seeking momentum to rally new and old symphatizers of the late President Corazon Aquino who could bring them all the way to Malacanang in next year´s national elections.

Venue for the one-hour lightning rally has been tentatively set for the Kiosko Kagawasan, the same venue where the late President Aquino also held her campaign rally while running for the presidency against the late incument Ferdinand Marcos in the last months of 1985 and first quarter of 1986.

In an organizational meeting held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at a local university, Harvey Keh of Kaya Natin said the tandem of Aquino and Roxas are looking for like-minded supporters with unimpeachable integrity who share their ideals and dreams for good governance who could join them in their march to victory.

"We have scheduled trips to Baguio, Cabanatuan, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao and Zamboanga so far for this month,"Keh said. "We are working with multi-sectoral organizations in these areas who are supportive of our Reform Campaign against the forces of Evil who now hold sway in the corridors of power."

The highlights of the lightning rally will be brief talks by Aquino and Roxas and the signing of a Manifesto of Support by multi-sectoral organizations who will pledge to back the candidacies of Aquino and Roxas for the highest and second-highest posts of the land.

Among the organizations which have already indicated their support for the duo are Conversations, NSTP/Council of Nursing Presidents, ACDO/Social Action Center, Year of Service-ACCESS, Youth Cagayan for Democracy/NOYPI, Bala-od Mindanaw and Change Politics Movement-Cagayan de Oro.
