Westminster Councilman, Andy Quach, Arrested

August 4, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports Westminster City Councilman Andy Quach was arrested after crashing his car.

According to the Westminster Police Quach was involved in an accident in a Mercedes-Benz he was driving, when he struck a moving vehicle and then struck a power pole that knocked out power to over 300 homes.

The Westminster City Councilman was traveling east on McFadden Avenue, when he struck another vehicle that was also traveling east. The three passengers in the vehicle according to Sgt Schoonmaker were evaluated by paramedics at the scene of the accident and did not require further medical treatment.

The vehicle sustained minor damage during the collision with Quach´s S550 Mercedes-Benz, after which he struck a power pole in the 8800 block of McFadden Avenue according to authorities, knocking out power to area homes.

Quach stated that he was thankful that no one was seriously hurt and that he feels bad about the incident. He also stated that he had been out with friends and was on his way home at the time of the accident.

According to the Westminster Police Department the Councilman submitted to a alcohol blood test after the crash and they are awaiting the results.
